NY is telling Lebron he could earn a BILLION dollars as a Knick.

That's already been pretty much debunked. Lebron in this media age is already a mega-star with worldwide appeal, he doesn't need Madison avenue to make him a bigger star.

amare to the knicks for 100m/5 years?

room to still sign LeBronze?

Not a lot of rumors going around right now about the Blazers GM search. Probably has to do with a certain someone taking a vacation every 3 days.

Well if they aren't publicizing it to the press, then obviously no work is being done?

"That KP, he was always talking to the press, always working the phones, burning through cell phone batteries left and right, lemme tell ya."

It's already been reported the search won't continue until tomorrow at the earliest because a certain someone keeps taking vacations. This certain someone also knows 0 about basketball and can't even negotiate a TV deal.

Winnerrrrrrr

Larry Miller negotiated a helluva TV deal (from the team's perspective), 100 million spread over 10 years is fantastic ... the fact that Comcast can't seem to negotiate a syndication deal with any of the dish networks isn't really Larry Miller's problem.

I already mentioned it in another thread, that just because the team isn't making grand announcements about who they are interviewing or looking at as candidates, doesn't mean Miller isn't taking a side trip from visiting his family in Philly to fly down to South Beach to talk with Pfund, or maybe stop somewhere else along the way (presumably job interviews don't need to be pre-announced to the the Oregonian and conducted in at the practice facility).

Fans are too used to KP publicizing everything he did.

Tell that to the angry people that can't watch games. It's very much Larry Miller's problem. Agreeing to the deal and not guaranteeing your fans they'll be able to view the games is beyond idiotic. The Blazers are all about the fans, right? Rise With Us?

Was Larry Miller responsible for that? I'm asking in all seriousness.

Please name the deals KP has gotten done during this period of time in past seasons please.

Larry's the one running the search?

So now KP not making deals(which is false) is being used as an excuse by you instead of vilifying him for it? I thought you wanted deals done? Right now not only are deals not being made, the team can't even find a GM.

Also, history shows KP made deals last summer and during the trade deadline. Love how some people pretend as if it never happened.

Exactly my point.

I will say that I have no idea if Miller is getting business done on his trip back east, but I also am somewhat pleased that this is not being handled in a really public way. Just announce it when the hire is made, otherwise you end up running the risk of damaging your organization's reputation and come off looking like the U of O trying to replace Ernie kent, as 15 guys turn down your gig.

Perhaps Larry's a little gun shy after probably being turned down by the Blazers #1 GM candidate.

Job isn't as appealing as you thought, Larry? It's OK, just take a vacation and shake it off.

I was unaware the The Blazers owned Comcast.

The Blazers deal is already signed, they have zero leverage in the situation. Sorry you are caught up in the Dish vs. Comcast drama, but scapegoating Larry Miller is a stretch.

Then maybe Larry Miller should stop making promises like after 2008-2009 season he would sit down and get a resolution to this. Promising to stream games online on KGW to fans who can't watch the games(how sad was this). He obviously knows he the deal isn't right because more than half the damn state can't even watch the games.

Go Larry.

If it's false, then name the deals during this period that KP got done?

KP has made one significant deal (Camby for Blanky and Chucklaw), at the trade deadline. He has made no significant deals during the summer. Other than signing his 5th choice as a FA last year.

Roy=draft
Aldridge=draft
Oden=draft
Joel=PatterNash
Batum=draft
Bayless=draft
Rudy=draft
Babbitt=draft
Williams=draft
Johnson=draft
Pendergraph=draft
Cunningham=draft
Mills=draft
Miller=5th FA choice
Howard=FA
Camby=trade

I see, nerves are still pretty raw over the whole KP thing -- I get that. But despite the fact that the handling of Pritchard's firing was badly bungled by the organization (Kolde, Allen, Liewicke?), the need for villains and heroes in this drama is pretty silly in my opinion.

You have to give Larry Miller credit for Juwan. It was his association with Brand Jordan and their prior relationship that facilitated Howard signing with the team.

Not to get too nit picky with you MM, but Roy was definitely a trade. We drafted Foye and forced Minny to trade with us instead of Houston. Not sure if that was KP though. Aldridge was a trade as well. Bayless was a trade for Jarrett Jack and Brandon Rush. Babbitt was a trade for Martell Webster.

Also, I don't remember Miller being the 5th option.... There was Hedo, Lee, and Millsap. Who was the fourth option ahead of Miller?

So you would have liked to see him use RLEC on Carter or Jefferson?

By not using it then he at least had the opportunity to pick his own FA. Turkoglu bit him in the ass and the Millsap offer is paying off as we speak. Then he turned to Miller. You say Miller was his 5th FA choice, yet I don't remember there being another two, unless you really want to count Odom and Lee.

Pritchard took a lottery team and turned them into the 4th seed in the west in 3 years. A lot of good fucking decisions have to be made for that to happen.

You better pray the Blazers get another GM that can find cheap talent in the draft if the NBA goes to a hard cap.

I thought we weren't allowed to give anyone but KP credit for everything good with the Blazers?

Absolutely.

Batum was a trade as well.

Adding cheap talent through the draft by finding your guy and maneuvering to get them. I hate it!

Absolutely he was, and others too.....on draft day. I am specificalluy talking about trades of exsisting players not on draft day. KP was a wiz when it came to draft day deals

Rich Bucher: As of the moment, all signs point to this scenario: LBJ (Cle), Wade + Bosh(Mia), Boozer(Chi), Amare(NY). Not that that's startling news. Twitter

That seems like a long shot, but if it worked out that way I would be very happy. Spreading them out as much as possible all in the east sounds good to me. (Plus Joe Johnson staying in the ATL)

Chicago really strikes out if that's the case. They went from being probable locations for Wade and LeBron to signing Boozer. That's more depressing than the Knicks.

I still think Bosh ends up in Houston.

I agree. And even better, none of the big guns - LeBron, Bosh or Wade moves to the West, while a couple of pretty good players goes from West to East. I didn't want the West to get any stronger than it already is for our future chances in the playoffs.

Larry Miller himself said he was taking another 3-day weekend, yet people are making excuses for his glacial approach to this summer. Also, we know Danny Ferry interviewed, and we know Pfund is going to interview this week. That's really public, IMO.
