It's not impossible we'll win the title this year. :rolleyes

Good thing PER is what determines who wins games! :rolleyes

Right now we have the 7th worst record. If that were to hold, we would have a 4.3% chance of winning the lottery. I think we'll actually finish closer to 4th or 5th. That would put as at 11.9% if we finished with the 4th worst record.

Before the season started, we had 100/1 odds that we would win the championship.

I still think the only untouchable player on the team is Dame, but I really like Plumlee, Vonleh, CJ, etc.

I think Crabbe also has a bright future. I would put Crabbe and Harkless in the same category of young guys with a bright future as solid rotation players.

Aminu is.... fine. I like him. I think he's a solid starter, but I also think he's tradeable. I'm not in love with him. Davis, on the other hand, is exactly the kind of guy you want on a contender. He's a blue collar guy. He does all the little things that you want in a big man. He reminds me a lot of the Davis boys on Indy. He's totally an Antonio Davis kind of player.

Aside from Lillard, there really aren't any untradeable players on this team. It's more an issue of what is your plan and are you getting something that is going to make you better in the framework of that plan. I look at these players and to be honest I don't know how anyone could really say we know what we have yet. If you are going to trade someone, you better make sure it's something designed to really help the team get over the top in three years. Trading for someone that just makes you a 35-40 win team now but doesn't have an upside and makes you give away or blocks a player with upside would be the absolute worst thing you can do.

CJ is 2 inches taller than Terry, and Michael Jordan was only 2 inches taller than CJ. What's YOUR point?
CJ is only 6'3. And why in the blue fuck are you bringing up Michael Jordan?

If you want to compare their size, Jordan had a wingspan of 7 feet vs CJ's 6'6. Jordan had a standing reach of 8'9 vs CJs 8.

If Plumlee is not at the very least a solid center, I wouldn't know what one is. He literally IS what you want at the position. Finishing at the rim, high and low post passing, rebounding and enough defense that he won't get embarrassed by elite centers.

#2 or #3 are not bad consolation prizes with skal labisserie and dragan bender as possibilities

I'd take Plumlee over Robin Lopez any day of the week.

That weak ass shit is your reply? You say that we only have two starters on the team, I show you that Plumlee is (at the very least) a very solid starter and you create some ridiculous strawman as a response? Get the fuck outta here.

You realize that it's not impossible.... right? Weren't you saying we'd only win like 20 games?

Do you even watch the games? He's shooting 70% over the last ten games. He's much improved.

Shit like this is just what pisses me off. He is a career 55% free throw shooter. Do you think that he's found a revelation after the last 10 games with us or something? Get a clue.

You tell us the team sucks, but then you turn around and say it's impossible that we'll get the #1 pick. Which is it?

I think he's saying we're bad but not bad enough to get the No. 1 pick, which in a way is much worse than being bad.

It's hard to keep up with Philly when they're actively trying to lose games.

Yup. According to their pre-draft measurements and the eyeball check, CJ is the same size as Lillard. They are one of (if not the) smallest starting backcourt in the league. Yehaw! In and of itself thats not an insurmountable problem, but it's sure not a feather in Portland's cap. Ideally they'd have another quality 2/3 who can switch defensively 1-3, handle/playmake & stretch the court with another perimeter threat... I seem to recall someone on the roster last year who fit that bill

telling you I'm 10 feet tall doesn't make it so. At their respective pre-drafts Terry measured in 3/4" shorter then CJ and neither had/have the length or explosiveness to make up for it. When you're talking something thats easily researched, like height, facts are the point.

That was how many years ago? Is it impossible that he's grown, both in height and weight?

Even still there is always a chance in the lottery, no matter how low your odds are with regard to your position. He just wants to act miserable or something.

According to my search, CJ was listed at Lehigh as 6'3 and 165lbs....he's put on muscle since but he's not 6'4 according to the stats. I saw him and Lillard side by side at the Moda Center preseason and they looked pretty much the same height...CJ is not a big dude and if they list him at 6'4 that's like saying Charles Barkley was 6'10

The NBA lists CJ at 6'4 200lbs...I always question their numbers...They inflate height measurements all the time

I've researched this before/feel free to verify on your own, but only about 10% of males grow more then an inch after they turn 18. CJ's pre-draft measurements were done in 2013 when he was 21 years & 10 months old. Impossible that he's grown substantially since then? Nope. Extremely unlikely though... right around the chances that I'm 10 feet tall.

his official NBA pre-draft measurements pegged him at 6'2.25 & 197.

I chose this photo because they are the same distance from the camera. I have noticed cj being noticeably taller than Damian all season.
