I think am the one against 99 on this board about pot.
Is there anyone else on this board that has had impaired pot users working for them? By impaired, I mean failing to be able to do their job?
Full disclosure.
I smoked pot for about 5 years. I quit about 35 years ago.
I started as a weekend recreational smoker, last couple of years, a daily user.
The two main reasons I quit were.
1) Smoking pot daily was affecting my job performance. I was still able to do my job, but, not at the same high level before I started to smoke pot.
2) Smoking pot DID AFFECT MY HEALTH. I was starting to have health problems that were related to smoking pot. It took years after quitting, but my good health has returned to its former self. I have no doubt that smoking pot CAN AFFECT YOUR HEALTH, and DID AFFECT MY HEALTH.
Pot smoke contains harmful chemicals that can be absorbed when inhaled. The more pot you smoke, the greater the odds that it may cause problems. Results vary by the person.
My conclusions from personal use
I do not believe anyone should go to jail for smoking pot. I am a strong believer in personal freedoms. BUT, I do not like the lies people tell themselves to justify smoking pot, such as it is harmless to smoke pot, or, that it does not alter their performance. I also did a fair amount of alcohol drinking over the years, which did not affect my health, or my job performance the next day. I am not even going into how pot smoking damaged my memory.
