I'm a Yankee fan first, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and will root against some teams sometimes and root for some teams sometimes.

No heart breaking here no matter what, I'm just glad they're in. Besides they've pretty much exceeded all my expectations over the last few years.

It all depends on how you want to define "pulling". Passively having a preference is fine, such as from a wagering perspective.

But actively supporting another team is being disloyal to both the Yanks and that team. For example: how am I too judge Rick's comments about the Yankees where their is a potential conflict with the Giants too (or vice a versa)? Since I can't use the marriage analogy, i'll say this scenario is akin to having two mistresses....nothing good can come of it.
 
...first off, a person does not by definition, have to be married to have more than one mistress.

...secondly, like me, I'm sure rick's only true "mistress", is Baseball itself.
