anyone ever camp out at the Gorge? Good times?

thinking of flying up to seattle to go for the Jack Johnson concert in a few weeks...just peepin' the vibe

I don't think it's fast pace enough for an LA man like you.

I'm thinking lots of hot crunchy seattle chicks giving out free love while drinking brews and grilling burgers?

Yup went to the DMB concert last year. Camping is awesome. Lots of hot chicks at a Dave show and the Gorge area is awesome. Everyone there gets blazed, its fuckin sweet. The security doesn't even do shit about it.

If your going in a couple weeks, be prepared for it to be colder than balls at night. Dress appropriately.

Yeah, I've camped up there many times for Lallapalooza & OzFest back in the day. Ragers every night. Kegs, weed, shrooms, sex, bonfires. Cops came one year to shut it down & they had to leave due to all the beer bottles getting thrown at them. Good times.

I do think you'll have a different crowd for a Jack Johnson show though.

Yeah, a Jack Johnson concert should attract a bunch of hot broads and queers. Bring your beer bong, you might need it to swallow down some Vino.

is the premiere camping worth it? don't want to shit in port-a-potties.

what do we need for camping. not really camping, we're just sleeping there after the concert and getting fucked up during the day.

portable gas grill.
beach balls
portable stereo

bunch of ice
bunch of beer
vodka and whiskey
wine (for the bitches)
weed
cigarettes
rubbers
smush tent

Black and Milds, a football to toss around, a bunch of blow and be prepared to find some drunk milfs.

That about covers it. Maybe some Gatorade for the morning.

Woot. Flying to Seattle tommorow. Anything worthwhile to see in Seattle? I think I'm hitting up Pioneer Square bars tomrorow. kind of ghetto but going to some bday party i guess?

have 2 extra tix to Jack I think. going to see if we can find some random chicks to go wiff us. haha

Red Mill Burger any good? Primarily looking for a good brunch spot for Sunday afternoon.

Camping at the Gorge kind of sucks, but if you keep expectations low it can be a good enough time. Strongly recommended that you keep drinking because it's much less good when sober. Last time camping there (Jimmy Buffett) was the last time I'll camp there, but it was bad luck. Got locked out of the car and spent the night in the passenger seat of a friends car that was about 3 feet from the honey bucket. All night long, the hollow sound of urine stream on plastic. Also nearly got in a fight with a crooked security guard and I'm one of the least belligerent people you'll ever run across -- it ended well, I stayed and the security guard got booted from the grounds. Good times.

As far as Seattle goes, probably head up to Belltown. Get Ed to hook you up. Nite Lite's my favorite dive bar there -- though not necessarily the best pick up spot. Tons of places on first in Belltown -- other streets as well, but start on first.

Red Mill rocks, but they don't open until noon on Sunday -- guess it depends if that's your idea of brunch time. Both locations are crowded and not the best place to hang out -- it's better for take out. If you're downtown, I like Lowell's in Pike Place. Crazy good views, solid food (more greasy spoon than fancy, but good).

Thats sounds like personal opinion based off circumstances that didn't have anything to do with the Gorge. I had a good time when I've gone, but I didn't lock myself out of my car and sleep by a porta potty.

we got premium camping so less crowded, showers and real bathrooms. I've done belltown a bunch of times. we'll probably end up there. I remember Pioneer square being ghetto.
