The Great Migration of 2008.........

Welcome to our community

Likewise. I have enjoyed your presence on this board and BBF for quite some time. It was great actually meeting you.

It was nice to find out that all the things they say about you aren't necessarily true. :-)

For the record, when they said HCP was mean, they meant it in the context of "He cuts a mean grass".

Yeah, I was at bbb.net, then bbf, and I didn't post for a month or so on bbf, logged in, noticed most people had left, and then figured out where you all went (via Mrs. HCP), and here I am.

Same here, kind of (except for the Mrs. HCP part - it was ABM who sent me a PM telling me of the new home at S2).

Started as TraderBoob on the old ESPN board, back when it used to be worth a shit, probably around 2002. Then migrated to bbb, which became bbf. Was still TraderBoob for a time, eventually changed my name to Boob-No-More after the 2006 draft. After John Nash, it just didn't seem fair/justified to single out Bob Whitsitt as the only boob of a GM we'd had in recent memory.

Hadn't posted for a month or two, it was the off season and our roster was set, so didn't figure I'd missed much. When ABM sent me the PM about S2, I went back and read the thread where the prepubescent Laker mods basically took over the Blazers forum, shut down the OT section and were banning long-time posters left, right and center. Two words, Laker mods, were enough to convince me to leave. Putting Laker mods in charge of the Blazers forum showed a complete lack of intelligence by the people running (ruining) that site. So, I showed up here about a month behind the mass migration. After everyone left, Mixum was still there trolling away and wondering why no one was taking his bait.

He was doing that all the way up until last year. haha.

Wasn't he going to sue and shut down S2? Whatever happened to that?

Was that him, or PapaG? Maybe they can get together and form a class action suit. Better call Saul!

Oh what a month that was!

October, 2008 - yes it was. I wasn't involved in the spat at bbf, but read about it after the fact. Couldn't believe they would shoot themselves in the foot like that by putting the young, hot head, Laker mods in charge of the Blazers forum. They were too arrogant to think we'd actually leave en mass.

I was Gunner at BBF. Was only there for a year or two before it fell apart. Was it something I said? I broke the Randolph/hooker(s) story a few days before it hit the news. Thread locked, threatened with Eternal Bannation, many nasty pm's for spreading unsubstantiated rumors, etc because I wouldn't reveal my source who I believed was a Blazer employee. (Not HCP)

Lurked here for quite a few years before signing up. I still mostly lurk though.

Post more :)

Especially any HCP insults you can come up with!

A few of us (eBlazer, Gramps, etc.) Go all the way back to the ESPN board in 1999. We got together at a Pizza place to watch a play off game together and PapaG came.

What about ProudBF. I know he was on the old ESPN board when I joined. We were co-workers at the time. I haven't seen him in years.

I was on ESPN too but I can't remember my username back then.

And I'm drawing a blank on ProudBF's real name. Guess this age thing has us both fucked.

BNM

P.S. I do remember his first name and I'm sure his last name will randomly pop into my head at some future time when it matters not.

I joined ESPN around 2002. Screen name was "TradeSheedNow". Literally the only thing I can remember is arguing with someone about politics in a thread that had to do with firefighters and... Spain for some reason. (Anyone remember this?)
Then ESPN imploded and I followed the crowd to bbb.net. Once Sheed was gone, I changed my name to TradeShareefNow, just to keep the TSN abbreviation.
bbb changed to bbf, changed my name to what I am currently. The exodus happened when I wasn't paying attention, and I had to catch up and then google around to find this place because the name of this forum was being censored on bbf.

Sometimes I go back to BBF and poke around. It's weird because it's mostly that mod that ran us out reposting articles, and occasionally Mixum shitposting S2.

Fanhome in around 2000
BBF whenever it came about then here early during the migration.

My recollection was that Hap was having some issues with moderating, specifically on things that were being said in the OT forum. He brought in some L*ker mods, who were complete a-holes and who declared there could be no K*be rape comments. Of course, I lack the impulse control not to immediately make another "K*be is a rapist" comment and I was permanently banned. Cpawfan had previously invited me over here, so I started posting here. Then for some reason ABM managed to get banned and that triggered the exodus, with the remaining BBF Blazer Fans engaged in a circle jerk of agreement.

Now, I need to go check them out and see what's going on in the old stomping grounds.

I was on Oregon Live then made the same rout of FanHome, BBF, Here.
I remember when I came into that site and for a few days didn't realize where did everybody go. I later found it here by searching for screen names IIRC.
Anyway, it's been a ride. So many people, so many years. It's great to be a part of this community
