Please.... All Eyez On Me was an amazing album. B.I.G was only a bunch of singles. The rest of the songs on his albums sucked.

You're right, I don't listen to hip hop anymore. The current group of rappers are fucking terrible. In my younger days I listened to The Roots, De La Sol, 2Pac, Snoop before he sucked, Dre, Wu Tang and Method Man on his solo albums, Common, Black Eyed Peas before they added the troll doll, Nas, some DMX, Jay Z, Beastie Boys, and that's just a few off the top of my head. Eminem was pretty good until about his third album when he completely sold out.
Lupe Fiasco, B.o.B., A Tribe Called Quest, Jurassic 5, Atmosphere and Eyedeas & Abilities are all good "modern" rap groups/artists, to name a few...

Canibus, Royce da 5'9, Nas, Jay (even though he isn't really good anymore), Eminem (though he isn't all that anymore either), Rakim, Wu Tang, etc...

There are some good rappers out there, it just takes more digging because the mainstream is SUCH SHIT.

Best Tupac video ever!

Pac is the one in red, I think the guy in the middle with the mic and hat is Scotty Pippen.

Tribe Called Quest and J5 are "modern" o.O

Those groups were old school. QTip had a great flow.

When you say B.o.B I think of...

I forgot Outkast on my list!

Outkast = Overrated.

Maybe their last album when they were still "together" but it was actually two separate albums, but their older stuff was great. They set the tone for all the Southern rap. Those guys were in a whole other world while the East coast/West coast thing was going on. If you think they were overrated, you should stick to Biggie and leave it at that ;)

yeah, i was mainly referring to their speakerboxx/the love album or whatever...too commercial for my tastes, trying too hard......too many white people jumping on their dick to seem "down".

southernplayaistic and ATLiens was dope

It went downhill for Outkast after Aquemini.

Aquemini is one of my favorite hip-hop albums of all-time.

Speakerboxxx, Stankonia were horrible.

if you want good current hip hop. check out blu, fashawn, sha stimuli, and skyzoo

Canibus is dope, no one can touch his flow or vocabulary.

I just re-read your comment and I saw Royce da 5'9.... that dude was awesome. I didn't hear much from him though. How many albums did he have? I don't think I've listened to him in ten years.

Oh, and I would like to point out that this is probably one of my favorite rap songs of all time. It never gets old.

And a name that hasn't been tossed around, but I always enjoyed his music

Royce and Eminem (Bad Meets Evil) - Scary Movie. Bad Meets Evil is probably my favorite rap group to listen to right now.

I was in HS and a group of us took a trip to L.A. and as I was driving to the school at 4AM this song was playing on KBOO (remember they used to play hiphop?)

Three pages and no reference to:
Here's the order of my list that it's in, I got
Reggie, Jay-Z, Tupac and Biggie
Andre from Outkast, Jada, Korrupt, Naz and then me.

Regulate and Fantastic Voyage were my real intro to rap in 94, though I'd heard a bunch of the late-80's stuff that Northern California white middle school kids listened to. Then I roomed with a guy who introduced me to Biggie in 97. Flipped a switch in my brain for a while. I just don't listen to music enough anymore to know. I liked Eminem a lot for a while, because I thought the rhyme and flow were genius. Others I knew listened a lot to Mobb Deep and the like, but it seemed as if rap was going to the expletive-filled, advisory-sticker, check-me-out-i'm-a-b!tch-hittin'-gangsta brand management rather than telling a story through rhyme. And now that it's here, I don't have the energy to search for something "good". But I'll take recommendations.

Eminem up until 2003 was one of the best rappers to ever pick up a microphone, IMO.
