She helped me plan out my robberies on my enemies
Didn't hesitate to squeeze, to get my life out of danger (yeah)
One day, she put nine one one on the page
Had to call back, whether it's minor or major (yeah)
No response, the phone just rung
Grab my vest, grab my gun, to find out the problem
When I pulled up, police was on the scene
Had to make the U-turn, make sure my shit was clean
Drove down the block, stashed the burner in the bushes
Stepped to police with the shoves and the pushes
It didn't take long before the tears start
I saw my bitch dead with the gunshot to the heart
And I know it was meant for me
I guess the *****z felt they had to kill the closest one to me (uh, yeah)
And when I find em your life is to and end
They killed my best friend... me and my bitch

He is influential but I wouldn't call him the greatest ever. His wordplay is underwhelming.

On this day, March 9, in 1997, 24-year-old Christopher Wallace, the rapper known as Notorious B.I.G., was gunned down at a stoplight in Los Angeles in what is believed to be a feud between rap music artists from the East and West coasts.

The slaying of the New York City-born Wallace, aka Biggie Smalls, occurred just six months after Los Angeles-based rapper Tupac Shakur was shot and killed in Las Vegas.

Wallace's album "Life After Death" was released 15 days later and remains one of a few hip-hop albums to hit Diamond status (10 million sold). MTV ranked him as the No. 3 rapper of all time.

Wallace's murder remains unsolved. Police have speculated that Marion "Suge" Knight, the former head of Shakur's label, Death Row Records, might have been involved.

Deborah Harry is dead?

Big L and Tupac are better. Eminem, Nas, Jay and Rakim are best alive, though most of them have fallen off. In Eminem's case, he fell off hard.

best rapper alive, ***** axe about me.

Really? N-i-g-g-a is blocked on this site? What else is blocked?

******.
****.
Fuck.
Shit.
Bitch.

Biggie was okay, but we've already talked about this and we know you're on his jock Eric.

Didn't XERICX used to also go on and on about Tupac also? Like about the theory that he was still alive and would make a big return?

Anyway, I'll take Tupac over Biggie.

A family member of mine happens to be a member of the LAPD's Gang Unit and is very well connected on this whole situation. I think it's messed up, personally, and have no doubt it was a inside job/cover-up.

Eminem is the most talented in my book. Followed by Tupac and then a whole herd of underground guys that most of you have never heard of.

This was the only Big song I liked. And it was mostly because of Bone Thugs.

I don't think Rakim is dead. In fact, he's very much alive.

Wow! We are in agreement here. I love Biggie, one of my top 5 lyricists....... but Rakim is my #1 choice. Nas is up there to!

Chuck D...................

Only good rapper ever. Liking Eminem and Biggie and Jay-Z seems like being a Laker fan to me. Much like thinking Larry the Cable Guy or Jeff Foxworthy are amongst the greatest comedians ever.

I must say I know little about rap and care even less about it unless it is Public Enemy.

Eminem is like Elvis. Took something "only black people do" and did it better. ;)

Seriously, though, Recovery is a pretty damn good album and gets him back in the conversation.

And for me, Jay-Z doesn't belong on that list of >>>>'s.

Who's this Rakim you speak of? For an ignorant soul like me, what's something of his that's a "must listen".
