Word FAMS

I hope G.O. wins a ring with the heat this year, I am of the opinion that the Blazers medical/training staff fucked him over from the get go, no pun intended.

Clearly - seeing as how he missed the entire first season by injuring himself before camp even started. Our medical staff must be at fault!

Ouch, although this is the best place for him, this was the one place I didn't want my dawg to land!

Sent from my baller ass iPad FAMS!

Maybe Greg will do a new Harlem Shake video in his miami jersey with women around him.

Oden STILL not ready?

The last time Greg Oden stepped on an NBA court to take part in a game it was Dec. 5, 2009. That would be 1,337 days ago. Or, 191 weeks, if you prefer. And there is a good chance you will not see Oden at the start of next season either — he said he wasn’t sure if he’d be ready when the season tips off.

Oden hasn't played in over 3 years, and he's still not sure if he'll be ready on opening night? Are you kidding me? This guy has to be the biggest head case/physical wreck in the history of the NBA.

Good luck, Miami.

Re: Oden STILL not ready?

I remember when we drafted him that we were joking making Walton/Bowie comparisons. Who would have thought all these years later that he would have been more injured that both of them?

God, what a heartbreak for Blazer fans.

You know that he had microfracture surgery 17 months ago, right? It's not a "3yr" timeline. It's a "not even 18 months from microfracture" timeline.

For MIA it's a steal. Paying less than we paid for Elliott Williams last year to get whatever oden can do. If he plays 15 mpg in the playoffs they will destroy people.

Clearly you're like most, uninformed.

Greg's first micro fracture surgery was a choice, not by Greg, that was made by the team during surgery while scoping his knee for the first time. He wasn't "injured," he could have played fine his first year without undergoing MF, and has an 18-19 year old he should have.

Greg went to a great place for nightlife where there are plenty of other African Americans that he can relate to. Big surprise. Maybe he will give basketball a chance this time around.

I hope not at all. I will cheer him.

Same here.

Then again, the amount of butthurt in this thread isn't all that shocking. People were awfully emotionally invested in the guy succeeding here a mere 2 years ago and (if I remember correctly) there was a ton of denial and wish-casting right up until the moment he was waived.

Which reminds me, for all of you people hating on the guy and praying that his knees explode again, the Blazers waived him; he didn't force his way out.

What will crowd reaction be as Oden enters a game at the Rose Garden in a Miami uniform?

....if I were Oden I would never again play in a game in Portland - for fear of injury!

Well, KP will be right. One will win scoring titles and one will win championships. Kudos

Ha! My first thought as well. Not often we're in sync, MM.

By going to Miami, Greg only has to endure one Rose Garden (real name to be revealed later) booing session a year.

I don't want to see him win a ring, because that means LeBron wins another one. However, I agree about the medical staff. Someone one day from the Blazers needs to explain to me after someone has MF, you help them BULK UP. They should have tried to keep him down around 250-255.

I have a feeling a lot of that was the company line for a guy 'rehabbing' who seemed more interested in drinking alcohol and eating poorly than he did in his rehab.

But Greggers, though. Always the victim, and always somebody else's fault.

If I'm Miami, I keep Mr. Brittle as far away from anything related to dancing as humanly possible.

LOL

He couldn't stay out of foul trouble when healthy and on younger knees.

Semantics, since he wasn't offered the Q.O. I also don't see anyone 'praying his knees explode'. Talk about butthurt...

Things will never be Gregger's fault, not for his apologists, and not for him. I know, because I was an Oden Apologist for years, until I finally saw through the guy's line of excuses and piss-poor attitude.

Why, he became an alcoholic only because of his cousin! He moped his way through years in Portland not because of the alcohol, but because he was depressed!

I'm on record saying I hope hot lava flows out of his knees. And I will boo him when he comes.

The same thing can be said for those who think he gained muscle when was rehabbing. I'm pretty sure it was mostly fat..

Completely agree. Repped.

Oden is full of excuses about why he failed. Fuck that guy. "I became an alcoholic because I was a rich African-American in Portland and I was depressed." Get the fuck outta here and take responsibility for yourself.

EDIT: Sorry PapaG "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to PapaG again."

I don't hope his knees blow out, but I'm pretty pissed at him. He was waived because he already made it clear that he didn't want to be here.

Exactly. He always seemed to blame everyone else but himself.

I hope Oden is healthy and Aldridge plays him like he plays his other teammate (Zach). Aldridge will make oden his bitch

Some teams have statues of no. 1 picks at their arenas. I hear the Blazers are planning a bust for Oden.

People seem to forget that Oden was the most anticipated prospect since LBJ when he was drafted. An absolute can't miss beast of a man who never got a chance because of injury and foul trouble. He has a lot of rehab still to do and after that he still has to start his NBA development from basically 0, but If he lives up to 1/10th of his original promise then the Heat will be unstoppable for the next few years. The anti Hibbert.
