I think it's different if you grew up religious and conservative, and fiscally conservative.

The alternative is, what if the COVID-19 virus wasn't as serious as it is? Does Trump get lambasted for taking China travel ban measures, etc.?

Also, check this out from Dr. Fauci who has served under 5 - yes, FIVE - presidents. These were his words posted in the New England Journal of Medicine on March 26th.

Trump is the worst president in the history of this country. He hasn't tried to fix anything. He gave himself and his friends taxcuts. He destroyed our relationship with our allies. Our country is a joke. Etc etc. He hasn't done much of anything positive....and the little positive he might have done was because his hand was forced after not wanting to do it.

I don't want Biden either, never did. He was not my pick. In fact I would be glad if someone else got the nomination. But, it looks to be him. Between him and Trump I will choose him.

Will he fix things? Probably not. But, there is a far better chance things will get fixed or at least get better with him in charge over Trump.

Some people say things just to antagonize others. It's not worth the stress to believe that they mean what they're saying.

I actually think your job sounds extremely interesting. - I'm not sure I'd consider it essential (no offense intended), but I am glad that from what you've said you have been able to keep working.

It was deemed essential because there are so few of the birds left here (Snowy Plovers) and they are nesting on the beaches. The beaches are closed and there will be no park employees out. The state parks are closed, but recreation is not. So, a bunch of rednecks in boats will be docking and causing mass destruction of habitat and nests with no one out to enforce. I have already seen it. So, with my normal biological research, I can also help mitigate that and send trespassers packing.
