I remember watching this game at the Paramount Theater. Blazermania was in FULL force. Naturally, the Memorial Coliseum was perma-sold out. So, it was decided to televise home games on the Paramount's big screen via closed-circuit. Initially, many thought it was a silly idea that wouldn't work. Man, were they mistaken!

Effectively, this was a playoff-type game against the VERY tough Norm Van Lier-led Bulls (Remember the 1st Round of the Playoffs in 1977?) Man, the Paramount faithful were really into it! Cheering, chanting "DeFENSE, DeFENSE!", yada, yada, yada. It was "almost" like being at the game itself...almost.

The Bulls played us tough and the Blazers were on the brink of defeat. With virtually the entire theater thinking the game was over............Lionel/Twardzik & Co. finally worked their unbelievable magic....pulling off one the BIGGEST come-from-behind wins in Blazer history! (something like 6 or 7 points in 25 seconds) Immediately following the game, all of us fans went streaming -- and I mean STREAMING out in front of the Paramount, raising our fists in victory, yelling and screaming as if we'd just won the freaking championship! The very cool thing, though? Many of the cars driving by on Broadway must have been listenning to the Schonz, because horns were honking all over the place and so many people were yelling and cheering out of their rolled down windows!

Par-TAY!! Par-TAY!! Par-TAY!!

It was an amazing, amazing night. One that I doubt I'll ever forget.

How about you? Any memorable Blazer memories you'd like to share?

I'll make sure to start the "I wasn't alive when..." thread next

I remember when Sergie Monia was once projected as a top-10 pick...

I remember when Charles Smith and Viktor Khryapa were our opening day starters.

I remember when Brian Grant got called for a technical because he faked a pass in the general direction of Karl Malone.

I remember the night I had sex with DaRizzle's mom and sister at the same time!

I remember thinking, "why was Van Lier the guy passing it inbounds the second time?"

I remember that the Sheed/ZBo/Miles frontline looked great and went 8-2 and then we traded Sheed.

I remember that, too! It was cool that you could move down and get right up close to check out their respective games as the entire lower bowl was completely empty.

In Atlanta?

I remember when Sabonis's wife got busted for DUI, picking her kids up from school here in Portland.

Crazy thing is, we ended up with both players they projected that we'd get!

I remember Ha and Co. doing a number on the Lakers with KP coaching.

That was entertainment at it's finest.
