With all the current discussions regarding how to handle the terrorist threats and the radicalization of home-grown Muslim terrorists I think it needs to be pointed out that here in America we tend to have Muslims that love our country and have adapted our core values. This, according to a news report I was watching last night, is in great part due to local Muslims being upwardly mobil, living in a country that does not mistreat them and that they live in a country where a core value is the right to worship as one wishes.

There are an estimated 5-12 million Muslims in America, even the low number is higher than the total number in France, Germany or Belgium. And we have had a few radicalized terrorists here (most fail but a few have succeeded) but not nearly as many as in France, where they have a much higher likelihood of being poor. Also, in Europe there are more tight knit communities of Muslims where there are virtually no westerners (non-Muslims) allowed in, and all media input are from IS and other Islamic media sources. There are a few of these communities in America, like in Michigan. But for the most part here, even in Muslim communities, they are interspersed with non-Muslims and continuously have to interact with Westerners and are inundated with western media.

I would prefer that the Muslim religion would poof out of existence, but that's just not possible, just like we can't poof guns out of our society. So if we can't poof it away, then it becomes important to integrate, accept and welcome Muslims and make sure they feel that they are a part of our society and not marginalized. Make sure the situations are severely limited that provide the right backdrop for radicalization.

No offense, but this thread isn't necessary. Of course you treat all people well.

I've heard quite a few takes recently about identifying all muslims in society, about making sure they have restricted abilities on where they can pray, what they can wear in public and a bunch of other restrictions. I'm not saying people on this board believe those things, but in general there is only one way to eventually win this terrorism battle, especially locally, and that's to work together to eliminate the situations where people are prone to being radicalized.

I was flying to Vegas a few years ago when they still had armed guards with assault rifle looking guns everwhere. A couple of middle eatern looking dudes got on the plane holding what looked like takeout food in bags.

Half way through the flight, one of them went in the bathroom with a bag and didn't come out for 20 minutes.

I was waiting for the plane to explode but it didn't. Nobody else seemed concerned so I figured fuck it.

I do remember walking up behind one of the guards with the gun hung on his back and realized someone could have probably taken it and started shooting. He didn't know I was behind him. I kinda felt less safe seeing that but whatever.

Actually, the quickest way to win the terrorism battle is for the Muslims that don't support terrorism to go out of their way to protest against these people, to report them and to let non-Muslims know what these terrorist do is not Islam. Part of the problem is that too sizable of a population are happy to see it being done.

I view muslims the same way I view christians, jews and wiccans.

As weak-minded simpletons incapable of independent, rational thought. Human weapons wielded against the masses by the 1%.

Exactly!
But why doesn't this happen? Well, if you read the Koran, you will find they would need to deny many parts of their scripture in the process. Such as, Take the infidel with the right hand, and cut through the veins of the neck. Only the infidel will care! (from memory probably not quite word for word.) When we see this in acted on TV, it is part of Islam.

Then take a long look at Piracy in the world, only Muslims practice this and it seems they feel it is justified. Nothing wrong with taking a Kaffir (infidel) hostage and hold for ransom. They still do exactly what they did, in Jefferson's day, and that is why he had six Frigates built and created the US Marine Corps. The pirates nest in Tripoli.

I think the "Good" Muslims need to lead a full fledged reformation. The second coming of Mohammed may take some time. So your suggestion is spot on, but how do we launch the reformation that has been needed since the days of Jefferson?

Become Muslim and declare to everyone that you're Mohammed 2.0 .

I can video you jumping out of a burning bush so it has that god like quality to it.

I'd post a snarky reply, but I guess I'm too weak-minded to be capable of independent, rational thought. Thanks for pointing that out.

I realized a few years ago, some people aren't just worth a response.

I could make a loan, but you are in the wrong county. You need to check with the good Lady Brown.
