So I gave this show a chance last night. What a complete waste of an hour. Leno is tired. And old. In the way that Carson was old near then end, but without Johnny's charisma to make it bearable. Conan O'Brian must be the most pissed off person in the world right now, because "The Tonight Show" has been completely forgotten by the NBC marketeers, which Leno basically took a late-night talk show and put it on at 10pm. Same format, same tired monolouges, same shilling guests, same lame comedy segments. Robin Williams? What, they couldn't drag Bob Hope's corpse from the grave? And Miley Cyrus? Way to be hip, guys.

I give this 3 months, tops.

I've seen 2 of them and have liked what I've seen. I'm not a fan of drama TV shows, so its nice to have an alternative on the networks.

Sadly we're stuck with Jay for years to come. His show is so cheap to put on the air vs regular tv shows that even if it's last in the ratings NBC will still make money.

Other than the new stage there really isn't much of a difference.

Jay Leno annoys the crap out of me as a comedian. As a car guy, he's great, but I just can't stand his TV show. I've always thought his funniest bits were "Jaywalking" and "Headlines," neither of which require much from him.

Conan>>>>Leno. It saddens me to see Conan handcuffed on some of his bits now that he's on the Tonight Show.

Someone said that if this show fails, then NBC will be in the tank. Can anyone here explain why that might be??

Cause his show is making them millions. His show is dirt cheap to put on the air, and they can still charge huge advertising rates for it. NBC has been struggling with revenue, and if this fails, they will have to put actual shows on the air 5 nights per week. It will cost the company 10's of millions of dollars if this show fails.

As for the show itself, I hate it. I, like some others, gave it a shot too. To be fair, I am a huge Letterman guy though. I have never understood how in the world Leno could pull higher ratings than Letterman. I mean, are there that many old people in the country that stay up that late?

Conan is the best, and his promotion in taking Leno's time slot is now obsolete, which is a shame.

Jay Leno in this format always seemed like a boring and pompous ass to me. I much prefer Conan and his self-deprecating humor.

There is a huge upside to this to me. Even though NBC cancelled Life, which was an awesome show there won't be any more shows I like on at 10. I stay up late enough to watch them but my girlfriend doesn't like to.

I got suckered into watching the first episode because Seinfeld was on it and I thought he'd talk about Curb, which he did, albeit very briefly. The rest of the show was typical Leno, which is to say ghastly. I know young people don't watch him so I can only assume he appeals to the much older demographic (who are probably happy he's on earlier). I don't know if he did it last night or on Tuesday but the first episode had the musical act followed by the headlines segment. Is this the big innovation they bragged about--having a segment after the music or stand up?

I gave him 2 episodes, and that's all I'm going to give him. But I never found him funny, so that's probably not too unbiased of an opinion of his show.

How have Conan's ratings been since the switch? Is he still keeping the numbers that Leno had, at least before Jay came back on at 10?

You couldn't pay me to watch Leno's new show again, unless there was a specific guest that caught my interest. I'd consider paying someone to get out of watching Letterman.

I'm old enough to remember when Jay Leno was a young, up and coming stand-up comic. And even I'm a decade or two younger than his target demographic.

They need to put this crap on at 6:30pm so his loyal viewers can watch it after dinner as they are turning in for the evening.

Last I heard, Conan had lost the lead that Jay had. Letterman and Conan were right around the same numbers.

On a similar note, anyone else feel like Fallon is pretty watchable now? I thought he was terrible at first and was pleasantly surprised when I randomly tuned in a couple times this week.

Not really expecting a similar improvement from Leno though, because he's sucked ass for so long.

fallon is a turd sandwich. he smells like bigfoot ate a bunch of burnt hair and had the squirts inside tank abbotts armpit.

I don't watch late night talk shows. But I never liked Leno anyways. Not funny at all. Conan is ok. But none of these guys are very funny at all.
