No I didn't look into it. Thanks everyone for informing me. Still don't think it's worth jail time.
Maybe what she did wasn't worth jail time. But a jury of her peers decided that it was since she didn't show up.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was one of her employees that turned her in. People didn't want to be at work exposing themselves to the epidemic. The government mandate was to protect the employees from shitty employers like this lady who (I have no doubt) would have punished the employees who chose not to come to work.

Especially because Walz set up a covid snitch line.
Yes, for the protection of the employees. Who very clearly needed protection from employers like this.

There was no reason for her to remain open. Minnesota had help for the people and businesses who did the right thing. Those funds were there to help prop up the economy.

Employees can call OSHA if their employer puts them in dangerous situations.

These things are benefits. They aren't bad things.

Very good move: she spoke like she was already president and spoke to everyone. One of the best ways to win is to appeal to center-right folks and see if you can get some light Trumpers to quietly vote Kamala instead because they know Trump is the wrong answer, but can't lose social clout in their own group. No politician is ever good enough for young voters; they are an illusion, a treasure you can't have. But the realists are worth going after. I didn't like all that she said, but I get why she said them so I accept them as a cost of doing business. Get her into office, then yell at her until she backs off the warhawk stuff a bit.

But you shared this simply for the fact that it made it look like this is because of Walz….. that’s what I was talking about. We don’t need that kind of shit.

When you're general everything rolls up. Come on man that's basic... Some states were worse than others. Do you agree with cali locking down it's beaches?

I lost 3 very close friends and 2 family members. Save your breath on this topic with me FAMS!

In general the states with the most strict restrictions had far lower excess mortality rates. Like over 30%.

I wasn't big on it at the time, but in hindsight the data shows that being strict and loosening up slowly while keeping an eye on infection rates was the right course of action.

I agree that locking down initially to varying degrees proved to be the most effective way to prevent hospitals from being as overwhelmed and saved a lot of lives.

Nobody knew how it was spreading at first. I think temporarily locking down what you could while getting a handle on things was probably not a bad idea.

COVID spread like wildfire over spring break in 2020. Locking down the beaches probably saved a lot of lives.

I think in cases of an epidemic we should probably listen to the epidemiologists and do what they say until we know more. If they suggest closing the beaches temporarily then I would agree that we should close the beaches temporarily.

This isn’t STILL a topic is it? What is there to talk about?

I'm wondering if it's worth Harris' while to actually do an interview before the debate.

It seems to me there's a lot more win in keeping her positions somewhat nebulous. Not only will it not allow Trump to really prepare, it'll drive him crazy that she's not doing what he wants her to do. And, no, I don't think it will give him an opportunity to "define her first" like the media is suggesting.

Don't give into the pundits on this. If Trump has shown us one thing, it's that a lot of people don't care about articulating your policies in detail before -- or, in his case, even during -- you're elected. Between the positive vibe of her running and Trump just being evil, she doesn't need to spell everything out just yet. She laid out her agenda at the DNC. Now she should let Trump's ego eat him alive heading into the debate.

I'm sure they did. Same deal Harris took, and it's worked out pretty well for her.

It depends on what you mean by 'position'. There's no way they'd offer West an actual job. They might have offered to let him serve on "Meaningless Commission to Study the Blah Blah Blah", but even that seems like a stretch.

agree, anymore it doesnt matter, what and how, any issue is discussed with the press, seems unproductive. In order for Kam to keep her great mystique and positive synergy the less seen till debate the better. Look at actors and/or entertainers that catch lightening in a bottle, that keep a low profile for sometime. Makes them even more popular.

She should just keep campaigning. Continue to travel across the country talking to the people. It will indeed drive Trump crazy and give him less ammo. She can say she doesn't need do interviews with the media because she isn't concerned about inflating her ego, she is busy talking to Americans face to face instead of through reporters.
