And I LOVE it!!

Next.

Silver will make a rule that gives the L*kers picks 1, 2 and 3 in the draft.

This isn't a good thing.

Last thing I want is Embiid in LA.

Though, he already said that he wants to be a Laker and has met with Kobe for "advice" along with attending a few games already - I'm calling it now, Dante Exum will be a Laker this summer.

OK Newb Question that I really should know the answer to:

Why do y'all put the * instead of an a in L*kers

Edit: Oh and FUCK THE L*KERS!

It's hard for me to hate a team per-se. I do blame David Stern for not creating long over due financial reform in the NBA a lot sooner than he did and even at that, it may still not be enough. With that said, I hate the snarky, cocky, laker fans that don't realize what a gift David Stern gave to that city as well as other larger markets.

I always found it interesting that when you Google NBA the results are always, Lakers, Heat, Teams, Rosters and Standings in about that order. Even if you barely read english, you're going to end up on the Lakers news threads.

ABM's first posts since 11/13. I hope they aren't his last for the next 4 months.

The lakers track record of developing talent the last 7 or so years is pretty bad. Let them get the first pick in the draft, so far this college season it doesn't seem like there are any sure fire franchise players, there are players with tons of potential but potential doesn't always pan out.

Edit - I mean really developing talent not this overhyped doesn't really pan out after they leave the team D'antoini style thats being run right now.

Because the word "L*ker" is the worst obscenity the panoply of human language.

I love the Portland fans victims mentality, it's almost like we actually buy in to the myopic Lakers fan belief that they are a contender for eternity. I don't believe the Lakers are going to be gift wrapped another dynasty. This isn't the 2 Jerrys (Bus and West) Lakers anymore. Sure they snagged Dwight last year but then couldn't keep him. Who is going to flock there to play for Mitch and Jim?

Bottom line they are going to have to rebuild like everyone else and the PacNW victims of the evil empire will constantly preaching the lore of Rigged lotteries and bent rules but until I actually see favoritism as to how therapies itself (ignore the media bias) I call bullshit if it was there the Knicks wouldn't have been so futile for so long.

We want the Lakers to be a perennial 8th seed or in the lower lottery. No way do I want to see them get a Top 3 pick. Either they use it to draft a future superstar or trade it for one now to pair with Kobe. Stay mediocre, L.A.

24+ years being a fan and seeing the Lakers dominant for 20 of those years is why folks like myself have the belief the Lakers will always find a way to be contenders.

MAS I don't think anyone would ever accuse you of being overly optimistic.

The CBA made it difficult for the Lakers to compete in the manner they used to. They could luck into a top pick, no doubt, but the chances of them getting a top 3 pick + a legit superstar + kobe returning to his old self (emphasis on old) are slim.

Had Jerry not died, and Jerry West not left, I wouldn't put anything past them, even with the new CBA. But the new CBA makes it far more difficult (even with their insane Time Warner TV contract). Kobe is going into his 19th year next year AND that's not counting the almost 3 seasons worth of post-season.

I doubt that LeBron is going to to go LA to be on a team with an aging star (+ his own contract) and a rookie. That would be a short term (at best) run. LeBron himself is in his 11th year.

LeBron + Kobe + rookie (whoever they do pick) wouldn't be a great team. The other 9 players wouldn't be anything great.

Btw, is it hard for anyone else to fathom that Kobe is in his 18th year? Just mind boggling.

Pair with Kobe? Kobe is done. She he will play out his contract which expires after next season, but he will retire after that, he can't even stay healthy anymore. They don't have the resources to instantly build a 1 year title run.
