Harris - Dallas felt they couldn't win with him
Carter - fell out of favor with an entire country
Hassell - thrown in the trade after sitting on Dallas' bench
Marcus - plummeted in draft after conditioning and character issues
Sean - plummeted in draft after getting thrown off his college team
Boone - also fell in draft, despite being a former Big East Defensive Player of the Year, due to a lackluster 3rd season at UConn.
Nachbar - rescued from Hornets bench
Armstong - 39 year old that was never drafted from a tiny college and worked his way into the league from the minors
Swift - disappointing first 7 year career after being taken #2 in the draft
Ager - fell in draft and yanked in and out of lineup by Avery. Probably won't get much burn here due to # of players.
Diop - a big who was taken #8 overall, is a good smart defender, but has a career high of 10 points
Krstic - going through the longest comeback ever from an ACL injury
Jefferson - other than his tiny ears he isn't too much of a misfit. Maybe they should trade him? haha

I don't know... sure feels like it. Even D'Alesandro commented on that in his blog yesterday (which was his most depressing ever. No wonder he wrote 3 articles about the Nets today. It was like he also got resurrected by Devin mania.)

Actually, Diop was also a player who was given up on in Cleveland, and named a bust after a few years.

And Jefferson was labeled simply a second-fiddle player, not capable of putting up a high amount of points.

Definitely a team full of misfits.

I also just remembered that Houston felt Eddie Griffin was better than having Jefferson. Ouch.

I was thinking of making a thread like this, but more along the lines of Thorn taking risks on guys with character issues, and just taking whoever had the most talent. Not that all of the guys we got have red flags, but Marcus lost his spot in the lotto after stealing, Boone after not seeming to care, Sean after smoking, Swift had talent to go #2 overall, albeit in a shitty class, but is dumb, Vince giving up, Thorn just seems to try and get whoever has the most talent, and ignore what may be holding them back. Also gambling on guys who haven't worked out like Magloire and McInnis. Which is why I could see him making a bid on someone like Kwame, Francis, Green, Davis, Bonzi, Giricek this offseason.
