The Legacy you leave...

I don't think leaving a program facing NCAA violations that you "solely" created two weeks before national signing day is an act of a honorable coach! Further he backed doored the Eagles using Oregon as his leverage. Meanwhile he was lying to recruits knowing he was splitting. I.E. " Nico Falah"....

it's like cleaning up after an elephant who ate a pallet of laxatives. Via rivals following CK's Eagles announcement, Nico relayed that he asked Chip about him potentially leaving UO in his in home meeting last Monday night. He said that Kelly stated it was a possibility that it would happen this offseason but that he would be replaced by someone currently on his staff and that little would change.

remind me who the liar is?

I understand why people are grateful to Chip - BUT - getting the program in hot water with the NCAA and then bailing is hardly something to brag about.

Perhaps I missed the part where anybody (Chip included) is "bragging about" that particular aspect of his tenure here. I believe the main thrust of those who are not Chip-bashing is that that part is relatively minor in comparison to the success, notoriety, and overall fun we've been able to enjoy as fans over the past 4 years.

People choose to focus on what they want, I guess...

We shall see if it "is relatively minor in comparison to the success" in due time.

True. We'll see. However I bet most tOSU fans will say that they'd gladly take the Tressell era, even knowing the effect of the sanctions that would follow; and most USC fans were probably happy overall with Pete Carroll's tenure, despite the impact of their penalties. I doubt this Lyles thing will have a more severe effect on the Ducks.

to be fair, Bellotti started the relationship with Lyles years before Chip and WL pretty much fucked himself by not keeping up with NCAA rule changes regarding his profession. I'd also point out that most major media without an ax to grind predict this impending NCAA water to be tepid. How bad would a minor scholarship reduction hurt when they've typically been operating several under the max limit by choice?

OK, I wasn't aware Chip "inherited" Lyles from Bellotti - and that does deserve to be pointed out.

I would suggest that you've barely a clue what you're talking about, but thats been backed up by a multitude of fail posts. Remember when you insisted anyone could clearly tell that LSU's D was much bigger then Oregon's despite them never appearing side by side and the individuals being listed smaller as HS prospects, college players and then again at the NFL combine? Or when you claimed Arik should be credited for a sack on a play where the QB recorded a completion? You keep puffing out your chest claiming these great obvious insights and yet you don't even know basic stuff like how many players are on a full roster. Every day you throw out speculative nonsense dressed up as fact and various posters take turns at shooting you down. Then comes the angry name calling and the thrashing about and the rest of us have a laugh... thats what we clearly see.

by the NCAA rules, Head Coaches are very limited in the contact (phone calls, personal visits) that they can have with recruits compared to positional coaches. Thats largely why we always see PSAs siting their relationships with positional coaches when they announce.

So much of what you post is easily debunked BS. How is Leon McQuay not a top 20 prospect who had Oregon in his top 3? We've a keyhole view into what Oregon's secretive staff is doing in recruiting... making claims to knowing who CK is calling and additionally why or why not is crazy town. You bitch and whine about how terrible it is for him to leave with the recruiting commitment day approaching, but by his contract he wasn't allowed to speak to other potential employers until after Oregon's bowl game. If he was to leave, now is the appropriate time for the school and the PSAs. Classless would have been leaving after kids had made the biggest decision of their young lives.

Just so we are clear Stomp the only poster I've ever had issue with here is you! You're a self righteous ass bag and everyone on this board and the blazer board knows that! Let's be clear on that fact! You're far from a victim so don't act like a daisy when you get head hunted for being a know it all that seems to know very little! How's that Chip Kelly still being here theory working out for you?

In a nut shell this is what I've said..... Chip's heart has been NFL based for years and his constant flirting with the NFL has been to the detriment of our recruiting. That's a fact!!! Where's the bumping my chest on that? FACT IS FACT! How many recruits do you need to see pass on the Ducks or decommit for that to sink in?

Chips used Oregon as a stepping stone to the pros and had Nike and the Oregon fan base market his rise. Fact! He was a nobody in the NE before coming here! You think he'd be in the pros today if his first real head coaching job was in Kentucky? Tell me you're not that challenged? BTW- Chip might not have been talking to the pros via his contract, but his agent certainly was so the tracks were in place, so knock that BS off too! Another dumb Stomp statement, in fact ESPN was reporting his agent was in contact with Cleveland in December. I'm pretty sure that's a month before we played the Fiesta! You don't put your agent in play for years in a row if you're not looking!

I have also said Chip "Pete Carrolled" us. Fact! He left this team facing NCAA investigations that he was solely responsible for and high tailed it to the pros! It wont effect his pay check now if we're are bowl banned for a year or lose five scholarships a year for two years! As for "inheriting" Lyles from Bellotti, you still know right from wrong and paying a guy without a paper trail for services and making handfuls of phone calls directly from your office to his and lying about it is on you! SO BS once again Stomp!

As for my speculative nonsense, I suggest you reread the legacy you leave post. It looks like scripture now doesn't it!

I'm done debating you. You don't even have the marbles to have an opinion unless it's ripping on somebody else's thoughts. Life in the cheap seats seems to be where you're most comfortable!

BTW- when you routinely pick on a dyslexics spelling it might be important to know blow hard..... there's an ' in thats ......

I never said he was staying silly until 10 days ago when that was what was announced. I've repeatedly said we don't know what he's going to do because we barely know shit about him. That applies to most things Duck related. Unlike you, I'm not kidding myself that my guesses at reading the tea leaves are in fact reality. It's sad that you can't grasp this and continue to believe your own BS despite pretty much the whole board letting you in on the reality that you're full of it. Your insights are as real as Manti's GF

the bumping of your chest is right here and every step along the way silly... how else do you think this reads? We have nothing but your obsessive imagination pointing to Chip constantly flirting with the NFL. Sure lots of speculative articles appeared following his one/single/only meeting with an NFL team last offseason, and apparently that sent your pretend time into overdrive.

Chips used Oregon as a stepping stone to the pros and had Nike and the Oregon fan base market his rise. Fact! He was a nobody in the NE before coming here! so you're telling us like every other big time coach, CK has an agent to handle his business away from the actual coaching right? So back in December when Cleveland fired their coach, they called this agent to express their interest in speaking with Chip when his season is over. Leave it to sherlock to connect the dots on this scandal that Chip's agent was actively answering the phone

We know from the recruit's tweets interviews etc that since the regular season ended he's been flying all over the country and showing up in living rooms. There were zero reports of him spending any time pursuing a pro job. Again, thats your imagination

I have also said Chip "Pete Carrolled" us. Fact! He left this team facing NCAA investigations that he was solely responsible for and high tailed it to the pros!

good grief the hysteria of whats likely to be nothing. He's leaving a stocked team in great shape depth wise. The next coach is inheriting an incredible situation

It wont effect his pay check now if we're are bowl banned for a year or lose five scholarships a year for two years!

omg! bowl ban! loss of a couple scholarships! omg omg omg! Do you purposely ignore the facts that in the NCAA's proposed settlement they weren't seeking a bowl ban and that Oregon has been operating well under their scholarship limit every season under Kelly?

As for "inheriting" Lyles from Bellotti, you still know right from wrong and paying a guy without a paper trail for services and making handfuls of phone calls directly from your office to his and lying about it is on you! SO BS once again Stomp!

like so many other things, it's apparently flown over your head that the NCAA rules regarding what constituted a recruiting service relationship changed midstream in the year in question. Prior to the change, phone calls were the accepted norm and the way Lyles had done business with Oregon and others for years. There had never been a paper trail prior but with the rule changes it was a new requirement of him to produce as a recruiting service. Get it? or is this another one of those bringing a horse to water scenarios?

I'm done debating you. You don't even have the marbles to have an opinion unless it's ripping on somebody else's thoughts. Life in the cheap seats seems to be where you're most comfortable!

to be honest I move down to the expensive seats at halftime. I believe the I'm done bluster as much as the last few times you've said this. I'm going to continue to mock stupid statements regardless of who says them

BTW- when you routinely pick on a dyslexics spelling it might be important to know blow hard..... there's an ' in thats ......

there is also an ' in dyslexics. I believe that you're dyslexic as they're known for creative thinking/imagination. But you're also just plain lazy. Dyslexics reverse the order of letters. Lazy people don't bother to look up names, facts, etc... dilutional blowhards start threads to share their repetitious speculative nonsense and tell you it's all fact.

oh, and as I've relayed several times, I'm dyslexic
