This game was so rigged, you can no longer call it a "game". This "show" is a joke. It's the "Law & Order" of the sports world because we already know the outcome of every "show".

Did the NBA order the Blazers to give up 13 offensive rebounds to Tyson Chandler? I'm confused.

When your two best rebounders are on the bench with foul trouble, you don't think that affects how well you rebound?

The refs completely controlled the tempo and the flow of the game.

Yup, I was gonna make a post like this. When the refs are going to determine the outcome of the game, why even play? We didn't help ourselves with our 3 point shooting or defensive rebounds, but come on. It's a fuckin joke. We benefited in Game 4, hopefully we get favored by the refs in game 6 to push it to 7.

Will game 7 be any different? You remember where it would be...

Of course it does. Of course, Portland had the opportunity to put Chandler on the bench but.. decided not to really drive after that quick first foul. The refs haven't been good in any game this series, but they didn't cost us the win. Bad rebounding, and atrocious outside shooting cost us the win. A real lack of energy in the third as well.

If you don't see it with the obvious numbers and the visual evidence in front of you, I don't know what else to say.

You know I may have had my "Blazer" goggles on but Chandler got away with quiet a few over the backs and defiantly shoved Camby in the back a few times to get the loose ball.

Having Wallace and Camby in early foul trouble did hurt, but I'm not sure that excuses or explains the overall half assed effort the Blazers made at rebounding.

I just couldn't believe how many times Dallas pushed off to get a shot off. Barea, Dirk, Terry, and Marion were all shoving off to get space. It was disgusting.

Game 7 will be called evenly, right? I mean, what interest does the NBA have in Dallas? They just want a competitive series,

After a while, you become numb to it. And then you stop caring at all about what happens. And then you're replaced by a younger version of yourself who is delusional and thinks the NBA is about being fair. Then, the cycle is repeated.

Some call this cycle, if you will, the "complete lunacy interacting together over really irritating shit". The only problem with that name is it spells out C.l.i.t.o.r.i.s.

IF you believe in conspiracies, Dallas makes the NBA a whole lot more money and TV ratings.

Portland is boring to watch (even if you're a fan, the offense is boring a predictable) and there's no one who sells a good story in the game.

The Mavs have Captain Ugly, The "jet", a wife beater and a guy who is named after a Boxer who ate peoples ears.

What does Portland have as a selling point? Injuries? that's so 4 years ago.

it's a matchup of possibly Stern's least favorite franchises. How many times has Cuban called him out/embarrassed him publicly for the charade he directs that is NBA officiating? vs the small market team who's frothing at the mouth fans might chant Fucking ***got on national tele at his golden boy if they're to advance.

tough call. Here's hoping he lets the players decide it as overtly milking the series out to 7 games is deemed enough manipulation

You think Portland fans would chant that?

Seriously?

But this is the year that Stern wants small markets and low ratings in the playoffs.

CBA negotiations, the more the league loses the better for the owners.

I don't think the whole arena would be united as one voice, but I don't think it's that far fetched if the Blazers are getting jobbed and Kobe doing his pouty bitch thing for some fans to throw back KB's own words at him. With as badly as the officiating pendulum has swung against Portland over the years and as much as hating SoCal and the Lakers is part of Portland fan's moral fabric, I'm pretty sure that there would be some moments in that potential series in PDX that Stern would rather avoid.

I thought about that conspiracy angle, but do the NBA owners open their books in the CBA negotiations? It's my impression that they don't. Certainly the TV ratings would reflect a downturn if its Memphis, Portland, New Orleans & Okelydokely City that advance in the West

Memphis ousts SA, Chris Paul is suddenly back and Roy puts the blazers on his back for the last two games to show he isn't done while sterns Golden Boy team advances. Thats 3 feel good stories that would make for a lot of good television. The Ratings on the other hand would be one hell of a lot lower then if it was SA/DAllas/OKC/Lakers

It would be pretty funny if the arena played the Law and Order sound effect every time the refs made a bullshit call.

My deal is I absolutely love watching the sport of basketball being played at the highest level. But, I absolutely hate the way the NBA has been branded by Stern and how much pull an NBA official can have on the outcome of a game. No other sport do fans know the names of over 50% of the officials in the league.

Since I love the sport of basketball, I must bite my lip and continue to watch as the game is made into a mockery. I can't help it.

I thought the refs sent a clear message to the teams and the home fans with the first play of the game, when they called Wallace for the illegal screen. I thought, "Oh, I see. That's how it's going to be." And it was. But I was not surprised. When Brandon got tackled to the floor, and you could see the ref signaling that it was a clean steal, I called my wife in to show her and said: "How can you tell the refs are not going to allow you to compete in a basketball game? Watch this." She was, as any decent human would have been, appalled.

Dallas was not just allowed to push off as needed on offense, they were pushing off on rebounds like the rule doesn't exist. And don't get me started on all the illegal picks they set.

Contrary to form, I actually do not expect Game 6 in Portland to suffer from biased refereeing. I expect it to be called pretty straight up, at least to the best of their abilities to do so. Let the best team win. If there is a Game 7, however, I fully expect a repeat of Game 1.

Yeah, this nails it. Wallace starts off strong, they hit him with two fast fouls. The refs look to see who is getting the best of the other team and make sure we cant play them. They are allowed to run ramshod over around and through us without a whistle.

I dont think that any team that is being hamstrung, taken out of the flow, and altered rotation, has a chance in hell to win. Sure we sucked on the boards, missed shots but would we have been that bad if we had been allowed to play the guys who had to sit on the bench with foul trouble? Would it have been closer if Dirk dident get a love fest at the line? If, oh, I dont know, say the refs called the game evenly? Yeah I think the refs took us out of the game.

Nothing sucks the life out of you than when the refs are calling it lopsided. Mentally, you have to be money no matter what and you know the other team will get bailed out. Everything is tighter and you're thinking about staying out of foul trouble more than scoring the bucket. Call it fair and we got a chance. Let's just hope that they call it even for game 7.
