You think he wouldn't have averaged 20 plus somewhere in college? You are seriously in a dreamworld comparing Ellis to Westbrook. And if Westbrook was that good, he would've gotten more minutes as a freshman. Again, Westbrook shot 33 % from college 3 last year. That is pretty awful. And you want to draft a backup guard with a questionable jumper with the 10th pick? Why don't we just redraft Tamar Slay, Zoran Planinic or Antoine Wright? How about hoping for a little more and don't settle for such mediocrity. Christ, these boards are as frustrating as watching a Nets game.

The point I was making, GM Jigga, was that someone was impressed that Westbrook made 33 of 50 wide open threes. Who cares? Judge him on his body of work in actual games. Don't draft a guy based on one workout. He shot 33% from college distance, while getting wide open looks (for two reasons: teams were collapsing on Love and teams were happy to let him shoot). Anyone can be a good practice shooter. He is not a top ten pick.

You are making a very flawed assumption that KC hasn't watched Westbrook play a lot. While I don't share in the Westbrook love either, I do know that KC is making his assessment based upon what he has seen, not what he has read.

You are making a very flawed assumption that KC hasn't watched Westbrook play a lot. While I don't share in the Westbrook love either, I do know that KC is making his assessment based upon what he has seen, not what he has read.

okay, I hear ya, I can tell you I live in LA and watched just about all of UCLA's games, and a couple in person. He had a good game against Memphis and I think a lot of people choose to remember that game more than others.

Yes there are, but not with a tenth pick. There are several of those players available as free agents.

Yes there are, but not with a tenth pick. There are several of those players available as free agents.

Look at this draft. Getting someone at 10 that can play a significant role of the bench is a good thing. The majority of this draft (after the top 5 or 6 guys) is gambling on upside (i.e. expect nothing for two seasons) or getting a 5/6/7th man for the rotation.

That's the thing though - if Wright, who we loved for defense, length and athleticism wasn't good enough for us, why would Westbrook be, if he shares the skill set?
