Perhaps the reason talbot didnt get traded is because of talbot. Perhaps no team is willing to trade AND give a contract to the guy. Why give up valuable assets for a guy who may be available for free? I get it if they are a goalie away from being a contender but....

My own take is good offers were there (not saying great offers or top 15 pick offers) and Sather decided to wait it out. Unless we choose to believe the tons of rumors and reports of good offers by MANY good plugged in reporters were way off, which of course one can believe if they choose to, that has to be the case. And on top of that we saw a lot of picks and players move, and we saw a goalie move as well.

Now with that said I am not getting on Sather now. Let's see how today goes. Let's see what we end up getting for Talbot. Let's see it all play out first, and then I will offer my opinion.

If we could get Hayes and a mid pick (3rd or 4th) for Talbot I would do it IF Hayes is open to playing for his QO this season OR would take less to play in NY with his brother.

I'd be surprised if Talbot is a Ranger at the end of the day, but I also thought he'd be dealt yesterday, so who knows really.

The Flames have 53, 76 and 83 in rounds 2 and 3 today. They also have picks in rounds 1-7 in 2016.

Not high on Ritchie from the Stars but he's 6'4 and a right handed shot. They might make a player of him. Maybe they are looking at Ritchie, Campbell and a 2nd. Then use our awesome goalie coach to unscrew Campbell, make him look like a stud and trade him in a year or two for more picks and a prospect.

Whoever it ends up being i still think you need at least 2 2nds from it, or 2nd and good prospect. 2nd and 3rd dosen't really cut it. And i don't really get why FLA would want him with Luongo there but they do have a deep pool of prospects.

Probably because Luongo is a freakin relic at 36. They don't have crap in the minors for goalies. I laughed when I saw HF state their farm had high end goaltending. What they have is low end crap. God HF is clueless.

Yeah he is getting up there now but they would have to make sure they re-signed Talbot. If they could get Florida's 2nd and a prospect like Howden or Matheson i'd do it. Hayes might be ok but i don't see him cracking the lineup here.

Howden sucks. He's a total bust. No need for Matheson. I really don't like Florida's farm. What they had that was good is in the NHL. Pirri would be the guy I would have the most interest in. Basically, Florida knows that if Luongo gets hurt, they are finished with the crap they have in net after him.

I don't like Florida's, Shark's or Calgary's farm. I think they all suck. All their young players are at the NHL level that I would have interest in. Dallas has a farm that is absolutely stacked. I would do a deal there.

I think we need to just take a chill pill and see how this plays out today. From most prognosticators reports this draft is loaded with good 2nd to 4th rd prospects. I'm leaning to what dump is saying and sather not offered what he wanted and didn't need to pull the trigger yesterday although grabbing barzol with that 16th pick would have been nice. Cam is not here long term and everyone knows it so with only one goalie going yesterday cam is obviously at the head of the goalie tradee pack. While another gm may have had a problem with giving up a first for him maybe multiple picks in that 2nd to 4th range works for them and us. Either way we'll be finding out soon. Yesterday Dreger looked like francessa with his impending deals that were going down but never happened. Maybe with a warm glass of milk and a good nights sleep he'll do better today. LOL
