Lauren Boebert, Nancy Mace and Marjorie Taylor Greene have been monitoring women's restroom to be sure Congresswoman Sarah McBride doesn't use it. Boebert sent red alert, McBride was in restroom! Urgent call to posse of female fascists and media while guarding door. They wait and wait. No Sarah McBride. Turned out to be a case of mistaken identity.

Guardian of private spaces for cis women only can't tell difference between cis woman and trans woman.

Does accidentally using a porta potty after each other at a Violent Femme’s concert count?
 
They'll start with trans and then move onto other "others", and then before you know it, we'll see other "less" people being removed. And then after that, we'll see those of us who support the "others" also being removed.

Conservatism's central tenet is hierarchy. Everything revolves around the idea that some people are better than other people.

You can only enforce inequality in so many ways until realpolitik sets in and you start building camps for the undesirables. If you aren't part of the prestige class, you will end up there eventually.

I was thinking about something like this on my way home today.

Democrats are about building up others, and making (or at least trying to make) people be included.

Republicans are about tearing down others and making it harder for people to be included.

You’re well versed in Sociology. Which happened to be one of my favorite subject in community college.

Dude who taught was McCallister. Old, blind black guy in a wheelchair that everyone easily could’ve taken advantage of but for some reason he demanded a room and people loved his class.

I loved that class.

I think my only path forward, pragmatically, is to reverse my legal/paperwork transition (which was only partially finished), get my deadname's passport renewed, and maintain as much flexibility as I can in where I end up, just in case. I want to live.
 
Shit, Beagle. Sucks but do what you need to stay as safe as possible. My nephew is living in England and afraid to come back to visit. Bay area might be welcoming but dealing with passport and shit.

Nothing is fair about your situation and the threats to your life choices...have you considered moving to Scandinavia or Thailand? Somewhere gender identity friendly? I know it's probably a last resort if you have family here but its a thought

I have two kids here and while their mom and my family (mom, sister) have given me permission to flee, I’m living paycheck to paycheck so saving up enough will be rough. My 401(k) is already earmarked for my kids’ college so it’s a last resort to spend that.

To your point though, I have thought about it, but I don’t know if it’s realistic at this point without being so selfish I ruin my kids’ lives to do it.
