It’s hard to argue a billion-some dollar defamation ruling wasn’t highly politicized. Everything in our current society is. Whether it’s Trump shit, Hunter Biden, or Alex Jones, one side is constantly trying to make an example out of the other. It’s extremely unhealthy for a society and you can’t place all the blame on one side or the other, or pin it on a crazy with a microphone.

That crazy with a microphone shouldn't be able to do that job ever again without making those families rich. That's not political. He's a piece of shit who committed a despicable act against victims during the most trying moments in their lives. Honestly, that's on the same level as murder, IMO. In respect that we should make sure he's never a threat to do that again.

I absolutely want that to be a warning for any other skumbags who may think to try that in the future.

Alex Jones just repeated what others were saying, notably Wolfgang Halbig and Sofia Smallstorm. The narrative that Alex Jones was THE Sandy Hook guy is total garbage. Now, do I feel bad for him, am I defending him etc, no, emphatically no. But I do believe he's been sort of made the face of something that was more or less just air time fodder on his show between Chimeras and Chinese Superweapons. If this was strictly about the parents, which it definitely still is, Wolfgang would be working at Burger King until the day he died for doing shit like this:

That's fine, but a lot of people listened to him and trusted his take. And he kept pushing it. I knew when he said it and I didn't listen to his show except for clips that people were talking about.

I was fine with him being sued and I'm fine with the ruling. I'd be fine with it if somebody else were hammered the same way, as long as there was evidence they were doing the same thing.
