thats what im scared of.... everyone loves us
theres always a team everyone loves in pre season who falls on their face
im sure mets fans felt like playoffs were a lock in pre season.... a few injuries and the season is over.

There is also always a team everyone loves that wins the championship. Like the Lakers, Celtics, etc. Analysts thinking that the team is very good is always a positive, even if it isn't a guarantee of anything.
True, but those are veteran teams. Our guys are just barely crossing over from "young guys" to "vets".
The thing is you have to look at this realistically. When you look around the league, the Lakers, Celtics and Cavs definitly got better, providing their player moves pan out.
LA will now be able to do similar things to what Houston did last year, but both of their defensive guys can score. Portland is going to have a tough time against them unless guys other than Brandon Roy can find a way to score. Brandon will have either Ron Ron or Kobe on him at all times. That is going to push him hard.
The Celtics have Rasheed Wallace to strengthen their front line. The question for them will come down to health of their older players. How many games do they miss? Are they injured come playoff time?
The Cavs added Shaq to try and deal with Howard. They still have midgets in their back court, and that will get them hammered in playoff basketball against certain lineups.
Those teams have Kool-Aid too. The difference is, they have tried their Kool-Aid, and adjusted the flavor a little bit for next year.
Yes, I'm not saying the Blazers are the same as those teams...just that being talented in the eyes of analysts is a good thing. Some teams disappoint, some teams fulfill their expectations...but it's always best to start as an analyst favourite (assuming you respect those analysts...if not, their opinions are neither good nor bad), because it means you have a very good team.
How sweet would it be to see this team just destroying opponents right out of the gate?
we are very deep. we are talented. we are good.
that doesnt get you automatic wins.
i just hope we aren't the team fighting for the 7th spot in april or the team watching the playoffs. bulls and hornets are great examples of young upcoming teams who fell apart.
west is tougher then last year. clips, grizz, thunder wont be locks for wins.

thats what im scared of.... everyone loves us.
