That's a good question. We don't know the answer. So I'd rather trade a player like CJ McCollum where we know the answer. McCollum could be an All Star in the eastern conference.
Im baffled by this thinking. We are in win now mode. Even if Simons is another Jermaine, I don't think there's any way we can expect him to have a higher ceiling than what Blake was/is now. Annnd eeeeven if he pops like that, it won't be until after Dame's into his decline.

Honestly, if Simons shows a ton of improvement during the season, I wouldn’t be against the idea of CJ for Blake (obviously there would be more to the trade).

The question wouldn't be whether Simons has a higher ceiling than Blake, but whether he has a higher ceiling than CJ.

I don't know if he does or not. But with the hype surrounding him this off-season, it kind of seems like the front office might think he does.

If this team is ever going to win a title, these are the kinds of risks that the team is going to need to have pay off.

Jackson they have been trying to move for some time. Rose is old. A trade of Griffin would mean neither guy is part of their future.
Since when have they been trying to move Jackson?

Griffin would be bad business. He’s injury prone and still has three years remaining on his enormous deal. I would much rather wait until January to see if Spurs are in the playoff picture and if the answer is no, then trade for Aldridge.

Griffin is so much better than Aldridge, and hes not aging. Id rather take something thats high risk high reward than low risk low reward.

The cost is the question. Both in a trade and salary.

Lol. Followed by the brick. They're a perfect match...

I would really love to see him do that in an actual game. Too bad those seats are in the way or he could have kept on shuffling.

I laughed so hard at him bricking the shot. I replayed it about five straight times lol.
Yup. Same here! Too bad it didn't bounce right back at him, but that was good enough.

(I don't even know if that was actually them....)

There have been rumours about this for at least 2 years. Like in every deadline they say they try to move him.
Some rumors are falae. Apparently we wanted to trade Nurkic for Marc Gasol and DeAndre Jordan.

Aldridge isn’t low reward. It is good reward.

I was thinking shorter contract, SA has no real incentive to let him go. Maybe I'm off.

If they are out of playoff picture by January, which may be the case with how strong the NBA is, then they have to make a deal. No point keeping an old expiring player if you aren’t going to make a run at the playoffs basketball.

he's not an expiring contract...he has a player option for 2020-21

and that's why I don't think he'd be a Blazer target. I think Portland values their expiring contracts so they can break the repeater-tax track they are on. Aldridge at 24M, or whatever he'd re-sign for would just about guarantee the Blazers spend their 3rd straight year as a tax team with the repeater penalty being a big threat in Dame's 1st year of the super-max

BTW, Blake liked that tweet about him getting shopped on twitter.
