The "Official" 49ers @ Seahawks Week 2 Game Thread

Niners don't look like the same team this year. Defensively they're still solid, but the offense looks very suspect. Lots of problems. Gore looks completely ineffective and Kaepernick looks confused about how to be effective in the offense. They've got a lot to figure out before they'll get back to the Superbowl.

You guys will be fine. You're a running team first and gore hasn't done much yet. I'd like to see more of Kendall hunter, I think he could do well with a bigger role.

Defense wins championships and you have one of the best. Just hope Justin smith stays healthy

Lol. Who's butt hurt now?

Um ok? I'm just pointing out how ridiculous your claims regarding history are.

Nice try though. I don't have a connection to either of these teams. I think it's pretty evident who is upset tonight

Kaep looks confused as to whether he's a pocket QB or the multi-dimensional stud he is. He'll figure it out over time. Not worried. He's barely been a starter in this league.

To me, it looks like he's been told that he can't run like he did or he'll end up hurt, so he's trying to be safer but it's killing his flow. He used to go with his instincts, now he's second guessing himself. Until they figure this out, he won't be the QB that he was last year.

Lol. By bringing up a franchise irrelevant to today's NFL. You know their glory was a CENTURY ago, right?

Come visit me at my home. Not upset. Not surprised. At all.

Come drink some wine. Busted open some 40-year old Champagne we've been sitting on.

Kaepernick was just fine last week against GB.

He played a great D tonight that didn't let any receiver get open, and the Seahawks did a good job not letting him get the edge when he scrambled out of the pocket.

Just better D than O tonight. The 49ers need more weapons if they want to beat the Seahawks.

I don't know... I saw a lot of the same stuff last week, but the Packers don't have the defense that Seattle does. I still think Kap is fighting his instincts right now.

Meh on the champagne. But if you had some syrah......

Yeah. Kaep refused to run a few times when he had an open field. Wilson too actually. Not worried. He'll figure it out and things will open up. Pass coverage was weaker today, but I thought the Packers played the line tougher.

I think they'll work it out. Sucks we had the Hawks so early in the season, but it's not the end of the world.

In the NFL, HFA weighs more than in any other league, IIRC from stats last season. Not worried at all. If we lose like this in SF, admittedly, I will likely be concerned. But it's week two, in Seattle, Kaep still figuring it out, etc.

Back off the ledge.

How do you get "ledge" off of "I think they'll work it out" and "it's not the end of the world."

I took a huge Harbaugh after this game and it felt good. I swear I could hear the 12th man from my house, but that might have just been thunder.

this was a fun thread, watching you guys bicker over who is gonna lose to the Broncos in the Super Bowl :devilwink:

Meet Sea-Hulk... I don't even....

It's hard to say the hawks or niners will be champions. On paper they look great, but really, as evidenced multiple times, whoever gets hot in the playoffs rolls through. Baltimore last year, the giants before etc.

I think the Broncos have just as good of a chance as the Seahawks or niners

I agree with this. In the NFL anything can happen. But I don't believe in the getting hot going in theory. I think it's more of being the healthier team going in.

Totally agree. Was just flippin' shit.

Happens in baseball as well.

I know this speaks for about 0.01% of Niner fans, but I thought it was hilarious.

Was anyone else appalled by the unsportsmanlike conduct of the Seattle Seahawks and their fans, juiced on noise, which surely creates as big an advantage over an opponent as any PED and which, to their shame, NFL officials turn the same blind eye they have to concussions and drugs?
It would be simple to fix. Seahawks players and managers would ask their fans to cease and desist, and the NFL would implement a new rule; the visiting team may stop the game when fan noise is greater than a specified decibel level, and should this rule be violated in more than three games, no home games will be played at the offending field for the rest of the season, including playoff games. Things would quiet down.
At a time when the world seems sour, sports give us a piece of joy, community and hope, and to have it spoiled is a bigger loss than it seems on the surface.

One of the undercover Seattle PD masquerading as a Niner Fan. Thanks for blowing his cover, Nate.

I thought this was a selfie of Nate?

Isn't the blue suit required garb for mods and commissioners of S2? I figured he just slipped a Niners jersey right on over.

I could never grow a mustache as glorious as that one.
