"THE" Official Blazers / Warriors Game Thread 11.20.10

So glad I didn't fly to the Bay just for this game, I would be falling off the Bay Bridge right about now.

It's called "absorbing contact." The greats can do it.

It wasn't "contact". It was a guy literally grabbing his arm while he was trying to dunk. I would loooove to see you try to score when I'm holding your arm.

Shouldn't blatant trolling have at least some sort of punishment?

Im done with Nate and his inept offense and for his man-love of "Blakey".
Games like these make me feel like we are never going to win anything with this current regime..great teams just dont play like this

worst we've played in YEARS

horrible horrible effort

if we had Batum, then we wouldn't have to start to mediocre point guards at the same time

if we had Outlaw, then we wouldn't have huge scoring droughts

our injuries are really really hurting us

I'm sad

Nothing wrong with going for a late night high dive.

I will tell you why Greg is having lower number rebound games, and I'll make sure I'll do it simple so someone can understand.

1. Three guard lineup means more people hang on Greg.

2. Three guard lineup means zone.

3. Zone means longer two point shots, and more threes.

4. Number three means longer rebounds.

5. No one covers Greg when he goes for a block.

6. That means the other team gets the offensive rebound.

7. I should have ate pizza.

I agree you are definitely sad.

Portland should have pushed the ball more. They should have used Bayless instead of Blake a lot more... the Warriors were on the verge of foul trouble all night, but Blake simply doesn't draw fouls.

More possessions would have added more fouls.

On the plays in half court, going to Oden was clearly a great idea and we should have done it more.

Roy was pretty bad, and Blake was predictably just filling up space. Aldridge was much better against Maggette this time around, but should have been better.

And is anyone else sick of Andre Miller turning his ankles every three minutes? Sheesh. Tape those puppies up or get some new shoes or something.

Rudy was good. Oden was good. Joel was effective. Bayless could have got to the rim (and line) at will.

Other than that? Ugh.

If we had Damon Stoudamire then we wouldn't be without a decent stash of weed on the road!

Someone tell me why the fuck blatant trolling is allowed here??

Seriously, either the mods get his crap reigned in, or this board is going to die like the rest.

Give me a break. It's been like this for the better part of a decade, with the same people that others complain about, and yet the community has been just fine.

He couldn't grab rebounds in the 2nd half. Fuck, Curry had as many rebounds as he did.

Honest question, dead serious:

Do you understand the concept of zone defense equates long rebounds which means guards get them? Do you understand this basic idea?

Someone tell me why I didn't stop beating my wife first.

You guys need to shut up about the "trolling" and just talk basketball.

man that Oracle is a bad place... Now I know how the Lakers feel when they come to Portland.. except, you know, we dont hoist the trophy at the end of the year. Fuck the Oracle, and Fuck the Matrix! :sigh:

a couple of positive thoughts on a frustrating night:

rudy looks like he's back in a groove and i hope miller's meltdown means he gets more burn.

speaking of miller, good lord was he terrible. time for the "iron man" to sit for a while. hopefully those ankles he turns every 5 minutes are feeling sore. but the silver lining is that we can perhaps go back to a more traditional lineup and give minutes to bayless. i tried to give miller the benefit of the doubt, but i think i've seen enough to know he's unlikely to work out here. so here's to the rotation consolidating a bit.

excuses, excuses; he was right there under the hoop and little guys were outhustling him for the ball

in 2007, we defied the odds and won the #1 pick and we jumped for joy; Oden has severaly underwhelmed but because people can't bear to hate on Oden and admit that, they hate EVERYONE else: Blake, the refs, Nate, David Stern, Roy, etc. The hate is severely displaced; it's amazing

Is anyone else hoping the Roy as a SF, and 2 PG's in the starting 5 LSD inspired experiment ends soon?

Roy is a horrible SF (compared to his game as a SG).

He's averaging 17 or so points as the SF. I don't think that the wins were because he took one for the team either. The offense is too predictable with Blake AND Miller in the starting 5. And Roy has to play against players who are taller than him.

Our offense is pretty predictable and while it's "efficient", it's efficient like a Geo Metro is fuel efficient, but a Corvette is far more fun to drive and harder to beat in a race (phoenix, btw, is like a lambo).

by the sounds of it in here.. sounds like you can add Eric Millegan to that list too ;)

Dude... Oden was DOMINANT tonight. The Warriors could not stop him.

How on Earth could you blame this loss at all on Oden?

Roy shot 6-17. Blake shot 2-9. Miller had seven turnovers. Aldridge only played 27 minutes.

Those things aren't Oden's fault.

You pretty much hit all the highlights. I have to add Nate was pretty bad too, his rotations really played right into Nellie's hands. Blake got pressured all night long by active physical defenders and could create nothing inside (probably because he's actually a 6'3" shooting guard who can't hit shots right now) Roy just couldn't get anything going after the first quarter, and for God's sake Juwan should never have been anywhere near this game. This contest called for athletes and guys with some ability to put GS on their heels and he is just not that guy; Dante at least shows some hustle and energy.

Oh well, yet another loss in Oracle. What's new.

right on!

2 assists & 7 turnovers? For $7 million??

athletes like Outlaw, everyone's favorite player to hate?
