It shouldn't be. I hope the team realizes how pathetic they played tonight and the last few games, and actually does something about it beyond saying cliche's and metaphors.
Talk is just that, the team needs action.
Someone tell me why I didn't stop beating my wife first.
You guys need to shut up about the "trolling" and just talk basketball.
Ed O.
I put this one flat on the coaches. I know some players played badly, but they were put in a worse postion by Nate choosing to match up with Nellie and go small. Nate played right into Nelsons hands, and now my worst fear is realized. Nate is a matchup reacting coach. I had been in denial for a couple of years, thinking he only did it some of the time, but more and more lately I have realized he is a match up coach, he is matching up what the other coach does, instead of playing to his strengths, and forcing the other coach to adjust to what he does. Matchup coaches get owned in the NBA. Just like tonight.
I was talking about this season.
go ahead, folks; call me names, blame ME for the Blazers loss, take it all out on me; so much easier than blaming the #1 draft pick who can't grab more than 6 rebounds against the Warriors
Eric, do you understand what a zone defense is? Do you understand what happens in a zone defense, and where the shots come from when a team concedes the open long two pointer and three point shot?
You said Greg was under the hoop and being out-hustled by the little guy. Let me break this down for you.
Big guy under hoop, small guy take long shot, long shot equal long rebound (long equals far) which little guys FAR AWAY (remember far is also another word for long) claim because they are where the long rebound from a long shot goes.
Long shot, long rebound does not equate possible rebound for guy right under hoop.
Do you understand now? Can you get all that?
Greg has had a PER of 19 plus since the third game of the season. Roy has had a per of over 19 for the entire season. Travis's PER for the entire season is hovering around 15.
That'd be a two game sample, Eric. Do you understand?
Greg not getting rebounds is not why we lost this game. In fact, its the furthest thing from why we lost the game.
it's BS because it wasn't all long rebounds; i watched the fucking game and little guys were grabbing rebounds right under the basket, in the paint, out-jumping Oden for the ball
go to NBA Broadband and watch the game again. Your theory will be proven false.

are you sure it was per or are you thinking +/- ?
it was PER
Oh look, no response Eric?

The funny thing is that our smalls aren't nearly as athletic or dynamic as most other team's smalls so they have more trouble creating their own shot, have more trouble staying in front of their man and basically are exactly the kind of small slow team that the Dubs feast on because they end up launching jumpers that lead to misses and runouts. The fact that LMA sat the entire second quarter and played only 27 minutes is unconscionable ... same goes for letting Blake get 36 minutes when he has a walking mismatch in Jerryd Bayless sitting on the bench.
Man I usually try to not overreact to coaching, since it still falls on the players to execute, but for some reason this one feels like it belongs to Nate.

LOL! You're so funny. While I'm busy responding....
Your argument is defeated. I was responding.
No response, B-Roy?? Huh?
Eric, under the basket is under the basket. Not outside the paint and 10-12 feet on the baseline. That's called outside the paint, Eric. That's why the area that is the paint is surrounded by the 'box' and colored by full 'paint' on the Oakland floor. The only time I see Greg outrebounded in the paint (that's not the baseline, remember, Eric) is when one of three things happens:
1. Greg has two guys on him.
2. One of the guard's guys aren't boxed out (please recall Dallas game from last year where both number 1 and this happened all game long).
3. Greg gets himself out of position.
Number three is a rare situation, and that is his fault. He gets criticized for that the few times over the course of a couple of weeks it happens. Number one and two wont happen if his teammates do their jobs.
It's like blaming Roy for having a bad shooting night because he's doubled and tripled because Steve Blake isn't hitting a shot and can't penetrate unless he's popped eight viagras pre-game.
