The official "I promise not to commit suicide if the Blazers lose today" thread

I'm glad somebody started this kind of thread! REMEMBER THAT WE ARE THE SAME TEAM TOMORROW MORNING WHETHER WE WIN OR LOSE TONIGHT!

We need to make the Official Ban Mixum if we win and he still has something negative to say

I'm right here. I remember the Dallas series, down 0-3, with a team I trusted much less than this one.

I won't go negative, didn't then, and that team tied the series before losing late in the 4th in Game 7. Losing a battle is not losing the WAR.

I'm comin' to you live from on top of the Fremont Bridge!

I paid way too fucking much for game two tickets to kill myself before then.

I paid an inflated price for 300-level tickets, but still relatively inexpensive. $40/ticket for two tickets up high but near mid-court.

I am still laughing at all of you who thought we could win.

Portland has ZERO experience, and this is the reason some of us were screaming for a veteran trade at the deadline.

But by all means, let it burn to a fucking crisp.

That qualifies as the most depressing statement I have heard in a long time.

No, strike that. I am too disgusted to be depressed.

this season was never about winning the championship, this team isn't ready for that. but what would this "vet" have done down the stretch that wasn't done? nothing, this team played amazingly and now they are getting what they really need. playoff experience and seeing how things are done. people want instant gratifaction and to "win now" but it is a process and it always has been. the goal for the season was to make the playoffs and learn what they are all about, CHECK. now anything that happens from here on out is gravy.

Who is the vet we could've traded for that is currently leading his team to a strong playoff performance right now?

Or has the history of doing so?

Or has any history of playoff experience worth shit?

If you think Richard Jefferson or Vince Carter would have saved the Blazers from the Rocket onslaught Saturday night, I have to say, I completely disagree with your point that a trade would have made a difference for that game.

And most Blazers fans are laughing at your notion that some overpaid, worn out, bloated ego picked up in a trade that would have cost us part of our core would have been a positive move by any stretch of the imagination. :biglaugh:

Well this team is young and cheap. Worst case scenario is they lose in round one, get some playoff experience, sign a big free agent maybe Bibby this year or if they are patient, Wade next year and they will be contenders for years to come.

Last night was rough. I had to swear myself off Blazer related info for a while so I could recoup mentally. :dunno:

How I felt after the game was almost exactly how I felt after opening night when the Lakers plastered us in LA and Greg got hurt again. In that game we looked nervous and completely unprepared for the task at hand. I was surprised how similar the game was last night.

I have since returned to normal, semi level-headed fan mode. It sucks how long we have to revel in this loss before the next game.

Hells yea! Look at how much those overpaid, worn out, bloated ego vets on the Rockets hurt their team!

Oh.....wait......

Their vets actually played well, and their younger players followed their lead. Wow! Vets influence their younger team-mates! Who would have thunk it? :biglaugh:

That might be true, but momentum is a fickle thing. If the Blazers had broken the Rocket's momentum after the 1st quarter, they would still have had a chance. Instead, they went into "headless chicken" mode, and never came out of it. Can you honestly say their lack of experience had nothing to do with that.

Oh jeez, one playoff loss will bring out even the crustiest of clowns.
