I tweeted her that!
Kaman going out in a trade is the only logical explanation; if it doesn't happen, Olshey miscalcalculated. So if Lamarcus is leaving why would we spend the money and hang on to Kaman when rebuilding would be the focus.
I think a lot of people are missing this, but if you read the Grantland piece by Zach Lowe, there are some scenarios (although they involve some risk) where Aldridge can make more money signing elsewhere.I'd like one or more of you long time blazer fans to confirm this, but...
Historicially, big time FAs have stayed with their team because the $$ difference is so large. There have been exceptions, of course, young players who know they could recoup their losses down the line, LBJ in order to form a "superteam", Dwight to get away from Kobe, ...
However, players tend to re-sign with their own teams, or do a sign-and-trade. It's possible LMA just leaves, of course, but his agent would be giving up millions of $$ as well. I suspect that his agent told him to just tour all of these teams, decide which ones he wants, and that he'll make a sign and trade happen. That being said, if a sign and trade happens with the Lakers I don't see Olshey agreeing to it unless they give up Russell. I don't see a sign and trade with SA at all.
FWIW, I still have some optimism.
He would still make more with us in those same scenarios because we hold his bird rights.I think a lot of people are missing this, but if you read the Grantland piece by Zach Lowe, there are some scenarios (although they involve some risk) where Aldridge can make more money signing elsewhere.
Lowe tried to spin it that way but it's false.I think a lot of people are missing this, but if you read the Grantland piece by Zach Lowe, there are some scenarios (although they involve some risk) where Aldridge can make more money signing elsewhere.
Yep. and we can be over cap to do it tooLowe tried to spin it that way but it's false.
He could make even more money signing a one year deal with us, then a five year next year than what Lowe was proposing.
Remember when he got pissed off at Chandler and just started taking it to hI'm and trying to dunk all over him? If he did that I don't think this would be a conversation. But he doesn't. That's where I disagree with Sinobas as well. I think he has the potential to be a number 1 if he didn't bail teams out a majority of the time from guarding him in the post.
Throw the ball to him in the post..not the pick and pop or left elbow extended..get him on the left block for the majority of his touches. Let him go to work
They bring a double..he is a more than capable passer to find the open guy. If they dont. Post there ass up and get to the rack. He literally is MVP caliber if he would stop hoisting up those 16+ foot shots all fucking game. He thinks he is dirk..he isnt. He is better, way better, in the post though. Should get to the FT line much more. I hope popovich gets him to play that way
Olshey has a special version of this song planned...
What pisses me off about LaMarcus is not the fact he wants to be courted. It's not the fact he'll be speaking with multiple teams. It's not the fact he's been very non-committal to the Trail Blazers.
It's the fact he's meeting with the fucking Lakers and Rockets.
LA's been in Rip City long enough to know we despite all things purple and gold, yet he's giving them the first crack at him? That's a fucking slap in the face. Dame may not be perfect, but Dame would never give the Lakers the time of day (as evidenced by his trolling of multiple Laker fans over the years on Twitter). Also, the Rockets? Really? Did we just beat them in the playoffs? One tough, injury-riddled year for your squad in Portland and you're looking to Houston?
Believe me, I'm losing respect for Aldridge by the day. He's burning bridges hereWhat pisses me off about LaMarcus is not the fact he wants to be courted. It's not the fact he'll be speaking with multiple teams. It's not the fact he's been very non-committal to the Trail Blazers.

Not all lifetime Blazer fans have a blind hatred of Purple and Gold.
Yes they do. It might not be blind, but it's a pure hatred. Or they're not "lifetime" Blazer fans.
Pretty silly is your post.
Go root for the Lakers, ya cracker ass cracka.
Saying all Blazer fans hate Purple and Gold... Is silly.
It's like saying if you don't live in Oregon, and go to every Blazer game.. You're not a true fan.
But if I were to say half the things you just said to me, after I made a valid statement... It would be considered a personal attack on this forum.
Funny.
Maybe I should use an emote.
