Kingspeed I'll play ya sometime and whoop dat ass

Lol they thought maroon 5 is gonna help get him?

Anyways, if Aldridge leaves I can't be mad. Unless it's to LA or HOU. he was here 9 years and didn't win anything special. I can't blame him if he wants to move on. Especially if he can go play with coach pop and live in Texas.

But if he goes to LA or HOU, I wish him the absolute worst. And the bobble head I have of him will be blown up lol

Wonder what Phil Jackson's gift will be.... a meditation mat?
San Antonio..... Tim Duncan takes LMA out to a George Strait post-retirement concert?

Why would he want to come back to Stumptown when their is ALL THAT?!

If Aldridge leaves us for the Lakers Portland should send Walton to kick his ass.

Supposedly one of the things that turned off LMA about the Blazers is all the attention/promotion Lillard gets and covets.

That can't possibly be true lol

It's Aldridge's fault if true anyways. He's not marketable at all and has made no effort to be. That's actually why I think it's bs.

Yeah Aldridge has always shied away from the spotlight. But now he wants all the attention and meeting with 7 teams. Who knows but I really hope this doesn't drag on.

Looks like the Beverly Wilshire. Pitches are probably going on in a suite in the hotel.

Aldridge wants the "Luv and Marketability that Lillard gets?" But come on, lets face it, not gunna happen. Haven't we all fallen for Damian's cherubic grin and crazy commercial appeal? Let's face it. Mr. Lillard is a Dickensian character without any D. LMA is the jealous neighborhood barrow boy.

Then again, you could say the same of Lillard. Although I suppose he's a natural spokesperson for constipation medication.

but he's talking to LAL and Houston? Does he not know who Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard, and James Harden are?

He wants to be a champion, and most of the time you have someone else on the team who is a great player and is marketable. I'm sure he'd love to play with Lebron...

question. when FA started does LMA's Cap hold disappear or is that locked up until he signs elsewhere due to his bird rights?

He's locked up until A.) he signs with us, B) we renounce his rights C) he signs somewhere else

I'm really having trouble understanding in the end what causes LA to leave. He leaves $28MM on the table, he heads to likely a worse team, he diminishes his legacy by losing his chances at the top spots on the franchise list and if he's interested in the HOF (which would demand another three-five plus years of All Star performances IMO), staying with one team with the same role increases his chances.

And I've made this point before, but he has no idea how good he has it here. Win or lose, we love our Blazers. They're the only game in town. He goes to the Spurs and they win less than 50 games, the long knives are out. If he goes to the Rockets or L*kers, he's not going to be the face of the franchise.

He would really have to hate it here to give all of that up.

And according to reports, he does.

Which is why the fact that he's taking SEVEN meetings is a slap in the face of everything this city and franchise has given him. He's burning bridges with the fans, the front office, and his teammates (think Dame appreciates this fiasco?)

Even if he comes back to us with his tail between his legs, he will have some work to do to earn some trust again.

Not really. Just play hard and we'll be fine.

Stuff you guys have all been told and refused to believe because no one believes people can have friends with knowledge of anything.

Aldridge does not like Portland
Aldridge does not like constantly being second or third fiddle to someone else on team.
Aldridge has been here many year and we have yet to come close to a title.
He needs to see and feel the love.
He may stay but it will be for the money, not for ANY other reason he may say to the media

I don't see anything wrong with a FREE AGENT meeting with other teams. It's his right. Now if in the end he wants to leave, all I gotta say is peace. There's no point in wasting energy being angry. He moves on, we move on.

Weird cuz he would be third fiddle in SAS, second or maybe third in LA, third in Houston. Only Dallas would be the spot I see him as the main cog

All of the nonsense that Batum's agent said during the Minnesota fiasco was forgiven pretty quickly.

I have no problem with LA visiting with teams. Look at it like you would buying a car. Even if your last car was dependable and the dealership treated you right, do you not still research and test drive other cars?

What aldridge fails to realize (if this is true) is that a team will never win a championship with him as their main guy. He's robin, not batman. If he goes to San Antonio then he'll be living in Duncan's shadow and when Duncan retires, good luck trying to fill those shoes. As for LA, that'll always be Kobe's team. And when kobe retires they'll find someone more marketable than aldridge.

Whats interesting about this, in Houston he'd be a 2nd fiddle. In LA he'd be a 2nd fiddle. In NY he'd be a 2nd fiddle.

In San Antonio there is no real "fiddle", it's a team effort.

And in reality, none of those teams are marketably closer to a title than Portland would be (if he re-signs) outside of Houston. And to get on Houston, the Rockets would have to get rid of a significant amount of players to get under the cap enough to sign him.

Its different. I think he feels Portland should be showing him that love. We gave continually chose to vat players over him as the face of the franchise, and he resents that.
