One odd little factoid to this whole clusterfuck.

Teams with cap room are willing to go after LMA...but teams that would have to do a S&T aren't exactly breaking down the door.

If the guy isn't worth giving up something to acquire - how much do you actually value him?

Per Tom Penn, Tim Duncan would have to sign new deal for just $5 million in order for Spur to have cap space to sign Aldridge to max contact

I'm sure its been posted somewhere.

I have the Spurs at 39.2 for Parker, Diaw, Green, Mills, and Leonard. That number will go up after Green and Leonard officially sign as they currently count less but it would be very easy to sign LA first. There are still other cap holds that would need to be lowered including Duncan, Joseph, and Ginobili.

It is quite possible that they asked him to take less than the MAX.

LaMarcus Aldridge is creating quite a stir for a guy who has never been out of the second round.
He covers the Knicks. Must be salty

He's not a Franchise Savior. I think we all know that. But a lot of teams see him as a Big Piece. Those teams have made room to sign him by getting rid of decent-to-good players he'd be an improvement over. The S&T candidates would have to gut a big piece of their roster, AND a good enough player that WE agree to do the S&T, to get LA, because chunks of their salary are locked up in bad players we'd never agree to take back. That basically means they'd have to trade the good player he'd compliment in order to lure him there, and that's a non-starter for both sides.

Umm Kevin love hadn't even been tk the playoffs. Made a big stir..I hate how these "analysts" treat us.
Two teams didn't make trades for Kevin Love... Spurs (Splitter) and Suns (signed Chandler, traded some stuff to detroit for nothin)

Aldridge could bone multiple teams in this process.

and KLove wasn't a free agent, he was traded to the Cavs. Not comparable, IMO

Greg Foster left a long tenure with Stockton and Malone to sign with the Lakers and win a ring for playing 2 minutes in a season...so I guess he's better than Lamarcus too

ESPN and CNN have both done specials on how foolish athletes are when it comes to financial decisions, now LMA is being criticized for taking his time when making the biggest financial decision in his career?!?

Knicks are apparently offering RoLo 12-13 million a year! Could we match that with Aldridge? I can't see Aldridge wanting to come back without Robin.

Touche, he was traded. But made a stir, right? Multiple teams We're going after him. One more season, he would've been doing the same thing as LMA. And he was an unproven playoff player, notoriously bad defense. I guess I'm just butt hurt about the treatment haha. Either way, any team would love to have LMA on their team. Regardless of only making it to the second round. And agreeing with most of you, Isola is so sour about the Knicks lol.

This is my first post, and it might be my last because I think the emotional stress of the past few days might actually kill me.
Here's how it works....
when the dust settles, regardless of what happens, tell everyone you predicted it in an earlier thread. You'll be a vet poster in no time!

I don't like Dame going to see LMA. It was reported on the "best of days" they were distant. Bad days, "straight cold to each other" LA has resented Dame from the beginning, but dame is much more marketable. Puts his face out there, not to mention is putting up great numbers 3 years in. I see this hurting us than doing good. But, those who say they're not close could be completely wrong.

It should, at the very least, speed up the process, one way or another.

Lamarcus is like that jealous girl when it comes to Dame, it's truly stupid given the fact this franchise has embraced him and done everything to keep him happy. Including passing on other free agents just to wait out a decision. I guess if there is a time to have that talk between Dame and LA and make shit clear, it's now
