Alex Kennedy: Damian Lillard planned to meet LaMarcus Aldridge face-to-face today (as @Sam_Amick said) but they had lengthy phone call instead, per source

Jordan signing with the Mavericks has to completely help our cause still

now that the Mavs signed DJ, Aldridge is the last big domino before all the scrambling to recover takes place. Any thoughts on when LMA will decide? I assume he had met with just about everyone so far, who's left before decision time!

I'm going to merge this in the LMA free agency thread.

Remember when Stren use to say LMA will stay 100% haha

No one wanted to believe me when I said I had it from multiple sources he was gone 100% a week ago...

I feel your pain. I go hammered for suggesting Aldridge's hesitations with staying here a couple years ago when this came up. Same reasons exist, it is just 2 years later.

Dude your multiple sources were a teenage cheerleader from Dallas. Is he going to Dallas cuz u said it was 100% certain.

The significance of that picture BoiseBlazer posted a page back: it was Winslow signing for the Heat. That means he can't be traded now, for far longer than even this Aldridge Saga can drag out. In other words, they're not giving him up. In other words: fuck you Miami, you have nothing we want.

If you're considering a new job in a different place the thing that stands out is who is your boss? I think in the end, the trust in GM owner and coach are the deal breakers. Teammates you can adapt to but front offices that give a shit about your needs are an asset that Portland has. This is LA's comfort zone. With the contract Portland offers, I think he'll sign here. Dame is great, but Lamarcus is the franchise player as of now. I think he's closer to Stotts and Olshey than he is to any teammates. We just have more to offer than any other team and only here will he cement a legacy for a franchise. If I were a betting man, I'd put my money on Portland.

That's the rational way of thinking. Which would be great if even some people thought rationally more often. I could see LA going to San Antonio and within a couple of years wishing he stayed in Portland. What was the line from Spock back on Vulcan? "Sometimes having is not the same as wanting."

I'm not even believing he talked to that cheerleader without pics.

I actually believe he definitely will regret leaving. By that time, We would be over it and contending for titles.
