Chris Sherridan has us picking Zeller with #10......... Hell no!

(c) he's good at the things Lillard is weak on, and

I'm not sure how you've come to this conclusion. Now, I haven't seen him play much, but from the video he looks like a less athletic Lillard.
And it shows no defensive plays (Lillard's main weakness) so I'm not sure we need to waste a lottery pick on another PG.

@DraftExpress: The last 10 years, the team who won the #1 overall pick was previously slated to draft: 4th, 8th, 5th, 3rd, 9th, 6th, 5th, 6th, 1st and 2nd

Hmmm...based on that "pattern" (no successive "ups"), the winner of the #1 pick will not be ORL or CHA.

Something tells me this would actually be perfect and lucky to not feel like we have to take Nerlens
I wouldn't mind. It seems Oladipo may be this year's Brandon Roy/Damian Lillard. I'd be happy with the Big O.

Just spit balling here... but CLE got the #1pick the year after Bron left. NO got the #1 pick the year after CP left. My money's on ORL this year.

1. ORL
2. CLE
3. POR

So no. 10 is due to come up then. ;)

The only other number besides 10 that I dont see in the top 10 is #7 ... Detroit could get a lot better a lot quicker

If we're stuck at #10 or even 11, how would people feel about Dennis Schröder? I imagine people complaining about using a lottery pick on a player at Lillard's position, but
(a) he might well be BPA, and
(b) the trend in the NBA seems to be to have two PGs on the court a lot, and
(c) he's good at the things Lillard is weak on, and
(d) If we were a good team, we would have players of that talent coming off the bench. After all, people are talking about going after Jarrett Jack, and he'd cost a lot more than a rookie.

Absolutely. Talent uber alles.

We probably won't jump up to top 3, but if we do I hope we don't get the first pick. I don't want to be the team forced to thinking we have to pick Noel. I am fine with the second or third pick in the draft this year since no one is a slam dunk pick. Oladipo would be who I want if we jump and that is based merely on his comments that he would genuinely like to play in and for Portland.

Agree and repped. I mentioned the same thing earlier. Lucky for us would be the 2nd or 3rd pick

Anybody know anything about the black guy with the Nazi last name?

Maybe he was adopted. Can he play ball or not? That's all that matters.

Amazingly enough (to Americans), such people exist. Remember Greek Center Sofoklis Schortsanitis? Not adopted.

Also, have you noticed how few African Americans have actual African names?

No weirder than a black guy with an "american" last name, really. Like, oh I don't know, Johnson, for example?

What kind of last name is Panic, anyway? Is that Armenian?

Here are the odds for the places POR can potentially select:

1st pick: 1.1%
2nd: 1.3%
3rd: 1.6%
10th: 87%
11th: 8.9%
12th: 0.2%
13th: close to 1 in a million--so you're saying there's a chance

No other slot is possible from the lottery.

So we have twice as big of a chance to move back one spot then we have of moving up. That would suck.

So we have a better chance to get the #11 pick than #1,2 or 3!

More than double the chance, actually.

This is very bad news!

I just don't get why guys projected to go late lottery are there. I suppose it makes sense if they were a consensus #1 pick, but this is a bit hard to understand

Remember how back in the day we never were in the lottery? Weren't we one of the last teams to be in the lottery?

Are you serious or joking? There was nothing any of those articles that gave any "proof". Also, how does it explain us getting #1 in 07?

I agree they should do it in the open but suggesting it's fixed is speculation at best. At worst it's a conspiracy theory.

Did you read that article?
