No Democrat has ever had this many skeletons in their closet as Hillary but she still blows anyone away that the GOP could throw into the race.

This is the exact position the GOP took after 2012 and it hasn't worked - nor will it ever work. This is THE election to go hard for the fact that she will turn this into a liberal supreme court.

Will the big picture change? Probably not. This is really a one-party system with the religious far-right wingnuts looking in from the outside.

Religion is what is wrong with this world. It is used to teach hate. Conservatives like Pence use it bash women's reproductive rights and preach homophobia. Each religion professes that it is the sole right religion, and all others are false. It divides the world instead of bringing it together.

Are there any that were? I can only think of Israel. Probably a few more, like the Vatican.

Good point being as Washington DC isn't even a country yet....there's still time though for spells and incantations...little snake juggling and speaking in tongues...probably better they don't form a country

Tell you what, find where Jesus, or Buddha, or Krishna teaches hate and I will thank you for correcting me. From my reading of various religious texts, Mohammad is the only major religious leader or prophet that taught exclusiveness and yes, even hate. Some of those old Hebrews were rather hash, but Mohammad one upped them on every point.

Whoa, I'm not saying Jesus, Buddha, or Krishna teach hate. I am saying the religions are abused,used to push hate by people. Christianity teaches exclusiveness, that there is one God, that Goes of other religions are false idols. That if you don't believe in the "one true God" you get to burn in hell for eternity.

So, really instead of saying "religion is what is wrong with this world", you could simply say "people are what is wrong with this world" People will use anything to control others. Religion is just another tool people use; among many.

Ah well the explanation make all the difference in the world. Religion is not what is wrong, it is those who abuse religion that are wrong. I totally agree.

And I also agree with you that it is little too far, that one must accept Jesus as God. I am not sure he taught we go to hell if we do not though. It seems the Pope has seen fit to accept the idea that the Jews may have have a prior exception due to their prior covenant. I am sort of hoping there is a little wiggle room for some of the rest of hard heads.

I used the term exclusiveness to mean excluding other people, not an exclusive God.

Laws are based on religion, though. Religion sets forth a code of moral authority. Without that moral authority, we are nothing more than savages.
