I'm talking the entire middleeast, most people in the middle east have never even seen a car bombing....and they live life without violence. You make the whole middle east out to be this anarchyland....Reppin and ASU have been to the middle east, they made it out okay....I supported and told you to go off and look into other sources of political material and praised your choice to get involved in politics...etc...before...

People fear for their lives their everyday so to say they don't would be wrong. I understand you thought I was talking about the whole region, I wasn't. I still don't remember you defending on any occasion....I do remember you telling me to look on to the other side of politics in the Bill O'reilly thread I made a while back.

If we are talking about Iraq and major cities like Baghdad like I stated where there is violence all over the place and attacks at sudden moments then they would be people who fear their lives. I mean, It's not like I know exactly how they feel but when violence is around you, you will generally fear for your life. Hey, I could be wrong. Life over there could be just peachy and anything negatively violent I see on television could be fake and misleading.

Big cities like the capital of Iran, Tehran? Or Shiraz? Nope...

What attacks and sudden violence are you talking about? Maybe every few years something might happen...in Cairo for example...or Riyadh...but I don't know where your getting it from...Your just exaggerating whats on the news.

You just figure if this type of stuff is happening all the time then these people must be in fear of their lives.

You are not talking about Iraq? Oh well I guess that is why you brought up Cairo with question marks. How can you not think that I am talking about Iraq when I already stated I was and mentioned Baghdad?

You said the middle east is a mess, where people have to worry about suicide attacks and bombings. I then pointed out that most of the middle east is not violent. Then you point out how Iraq is violent I said obviously Iraq is a mess because it's a war zone ----------------------------------------------------------------- Bottom line, I'm not talking about Iraq, I don't care about Iraq, you said that people in the middle east fear bombings and violence in big cities, whenever I say something like that and question your thinking you always revert back to Iraq....

In the entire middle east in general (a large area) people are generally safe. There are alot of safe countries that are not involved in war and excessive violence but again I am not talking about the whole entire middle east.

BCB, whether or not their fears are legitimate, they are still fears. Remember how terrified a lot of the country was after 9/11? Imagine if there were terror attacks every day how nervous and afraid for their lives people would be, even if they had never seen one of the bombings.check out some people's blogs on this site. Like all sources take it with a grain of salt, but it's interesting.http://electroniciraq.net/news/iraqdiaries.shtml

Iran isn't that big of a threat. They don't have the balls to directly attack the USA, if anything, they'd use a surrogate, that is the biggest threat.

not many people like going to the army. While recruitment isn't too low. We would be kinda F*cked up with the war in Iraq + this, and with another nuclear threat that is possible with Iran, sh*t could happen. They might have to do the draft, have to bring a whole lot of people to that fight if it were to happen over there.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (SirLaker @ Jul 21 2007, 11:07 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Why would a draft HAVE to occur?</div>We have nowhere near the number of troops to effectively declare a war on Iran without a draft. Iraq is all we can handle and the military is getting no new signups right now. We'd either have to use nuclear weapons or have a draft.

We don't nessicarily need the troops, we'd only need the troops if the US planned to invade Iran. if the US only wanted to bomb the living hell out of Iran than there would be no need for a draft. One of the few Military polocies of Bill Clinton I support is the so called Clinton doctrine, which is basically usuing air superiority to desimate you're enemies. if the US launched simulantius Air and Naval bombardments of Iran, Iran would likely copitulate very quickly. With persision weaponary collateral damage would be very low, unless the airforce intentionally doesn't want it that way like in Serbia.

but the after effects if an attack like this happened would be much worse. Totally not worth the money and effort. Bombing them wouldn't take them out, there would be international outcry over the innocents killed in this so called run.

TEHRAN, Iran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday Iran would never yield to international pressure to suspend its uranium enrichment work.?Iran will never abandon its peaceful (nuclear) work,? Ahmadinejad told state television. ?Our nuclear work is legal and why should we stop it??Iran says its nuclear program is meant to generate electricity so it can export more of its oil wealth ? not to make bombs, as Western powers suspect after years of Iranian secrecy and evasions.

Kind of off-topic, but it's kind of F'ed up that I can't go there anymore to see my family at this age because I may not be able to come back and they'll send me to their army. So my only chance of seeing my grandparents ever again would be if they come here.
sad.gif
I'm definitely not taking the chance of not coming back.
