1. Leon Panetta and General Petreaus have just been promoted. Panetta was mentioned specifically tonight and he was nominated last Thursday for the head of the DoD. Petreaus was nominated to head the CIA.

2. The timing of this is quite ideal for Obama, when his poll numbers are at all time lows. He recently had some gains with the birth certificate issue. Nato strikes in Libya yesterday murdered Momar Quadaffi's grandkids...certainly a VERY negative blight which all have essentially forgotten rather quickly.

3. The issue of DNA confirmation? Was a rumor going around but now hearing it was photo confirmation and visual with those in the compound.

4. He was buried at sea within hours of the announcement.

5. A military helicopter used in the operation "crashed" into the compound. The US set it on fire to prevent insurgents from finding the "technology" on the copter. Now the mansion is burning.

I have heard that the US people did not ask for his long-form birth certificate before shooting him. Also, there was an ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF GOLD under the mansion which has disappeared. These are reasonable questions that someone, and by that I mean Obama, needs to answer.

I find it odd that there were only 4 deaths in a firefight guarding the leader of Al Queda. Would think that compound would have quite a bit of armed soldiers.

A lot of armed soldiers would point out that something was going on there. From everything i'v heard it sounds like the people at the mansion were trying to act very low key and not draw any interest. Thats why it took so long for the Pakistani government and the US to find anything odd about the place.
There are always considerably amount of theories flying around on everything (lots of them about 911 too), i'll wait to really read most of them untill more facts have come out.

Shortly before 4pm, Obama learned that bin Laden had been “tentatively identified.” Three hours later, the president was told there was a “high probability” that bin Laden was killed; his identity was later confirmed with DNA from his late sister.

.S. officials said they used facial imaging and other methods to identify the body of Osama bin Laden.

One official said it was clear to the assault force that the body matched bin Laden's description, but they used "facial recognition work, amongst other things, to confirm the identity."

A senior national security official said that they had multiple confirmations that the body was bin Laden, saying they had the "ability to run images of the body and the face."

The national security official would not confirm if DNA testing was performed.

If they were to fake a picture why the hell would they pick one that uses a well known picture of him as proof? Maybe the proof that was leaked was not leaked by the US, but by someone who made a fake picture.

The govt. isn't using this picture as proof. I heard on CNN all morning that he had a gunshot wound to the side of his head, consistent with suicide.

As to the last question, they can't if he died in 2002.
