I can appreciate that most of the information on this operation is conflicting because of the fact that it involves so many classified elements. But at the same time it should be clear to those in charge that this isn't the same world it used to be. If you can't provide a clear, cohesive story the internet will point that out rather quickly. The "Pics or it didn't happen" mentality is fair, especially given that we have pictures of JFK laying in a morgue, but we can't get pics of the #2 most wanted man of all time behind Hitler? We got all sorts of pics of dead Nazi leaders just for good measure. The argument that releasing such imagine will cause people to attack us doesn't hold up. Anyone who is going to do that in the first place isn't going to use that image as their ultimate motivation. All of these excuses and bits of misinformation are annoying because from the start they could have cleared up everything.
