after tonight you can add another win to the thunder, jazz and hornets. what do they all have in common? all teams we are fighting with for the 7th seed or 8th seed.

with that said, the thunder have played an easy ass schedule and after tonight it gets tough thankfully. however the hornets and jazz keep rolling....

getting pretty tight and we have lost 3-4 ... scary time for the blazers. kpee does nothing but look like a deer in headlights. you see sac get a decent center for a 2nd rounder and wonder how kpee cant even come close to that type of move. sad.

What package could KP have put together that would have been more attractive?

Go Blazers

all i can tell ya is... pritchard is so uncreative... im sure he didnt even approach it.

You're not sure about a damned thing. I guess you aren't too creative either, since you can't come up with a better trade?

Go Blazers

It doesn't matter, nothing we can do about it but play our games. With half your roster hurt it's hard to make a trade.

Maxim accidentally drops the Blazers a huge compliment. With the West being so strong, this makes our record even more impressive considering the circumstances. It shows the healthy players and coaches are underrated for sure!

dalemburt? heyward? jefferson? foster? murphy?

you are really gonna sit here and tell me that our lousy gm cant get one of those guys?

he has no choice anyway... blake has no spot when rudy comes back. we have no center... and
by not making a trade... it tells the players their effort was for nothing. ya see kpee is in a must trade spot. had the team lost like he thought... he could have tanked for the lotto but now that we are 23-16... playoffs are very much alive. therefore hes backed in a corner. not to mention half the league laughs at the fact hpward starts at center.

Actually it shows the opposite. It shows the healthy players are over rated, because they were replace easily. You think Blake could have notched 31 in place of Roy and led Blazers to a win? I think not.

If it's such a piece of cake, show us a trade checked proposal that makes sense to both teams.

Well it has to be positives about some people.... Nate, Roy, Miller, Webster, KP's drafting ability, etc.

How does our healthy guys winning tough games show they are over rated? No, Blake couldn't have notched 31 like Bayless did. Bayless was a healthy player. Are you saying Bayless is over rated?

Not really. I can easily provide another view as to why the team has been playing well. The injuries did what Nate never had the balls to do. Shorten the rotation and play players he wouldn't normally play. We already saw that last night when Blake came back. Nate is in a win-win situation. If things don't turn out well, he can blame the injuries. If things turn out well, he can take the credit.

What exactly is he supposed to trade? Nobody is gonna take injured players back. We have had a ton of freak injuries, deal with it! Support your team when they are down. They have played way above what I expected.

There is a difference between supporting your team and drinking the kool aid. I support my team. But I don't drink the Kool aid.

there is also a difference between drinking kool aid, and being a realist about this team and the position its in, as opposed to being a jackass about the same things. I dont think I drink the kool aid, but I also dont constantly bitch in here. (not saying you do, but there are a few who do)

I agree, but what do you honestly think this team could bring back in a trade that would make a huge difference? Would you pull some trade just to win 3 more games? I'd love to trade Blake, Trav and whoever for Caron Butler too, but it ain't happenin'. I'm just saying that we should enjoy the fact that we are even competing let alone winning some games.

No I haven't said that. Not in one of my post have I said make a trade. IMO this season is toast, our best bet is to make the playoffs with what we have and hope we end up with a matchup with a team that is not dominate on the front line. I am just saying to quit giving credit to folks in the Blazer organization when they really haven't done anything. They did what they had to with a short handed team. Look at Nate. You tell me one thing he has done differently since the injuries. The only thing he has done, is the same thing, but with the only players he had available. KP's hands are tied. He has nothing to trade.

problem is.. hcp doesnt think we will make the playoffs.

and yes hcp... we can make a deal for a player that would help us win 3 games or more. are you that much of a company boy or been hanging out with kpee?

lets just call it a year and let the thunder take our playoff spot. then we can all sit here and say "they tried so hard but..."

no the problem is.. you expect to go 82-0 and 16-0 in the post season.

no .... what i expect is for them to make the playoffs.

i expect our pussy ass gm to make a trade that helps us and his team instead of showing what we all know... he has no guts.

and lasty i expect you all to realize how valuable an expiring contract is... blake and outlaw. regardless how healthy they are. i mean are you kidding me... we have nothing to trade? even batum will be healthy in few weeks. really hcp.... really?

so what trades are on the table that he has/hasnt pursued? I know who you would want. I have players I would want. But who out there is available for just Blake and Outlaw?

That sure seems to be a half glass empty point of view.

How there can be nothing positive from maintaining a similar record from the previous year despite having lost half your roster seems like a stretch. I don't think if Nate only played 8 people when we are fully healthy would cause us to win 10 more games.

Roy has stepped up and played incredible (even for him) during the last few weeks. I think our young 2nd round picks have shown to be of great value considering where they were drafted. Howard is proving to be a great veteran pickup that is giving us the insurance we signed him for. Webster appears to be turning the corner the last few games. Those are positives in my book, but I'm sure if I look hard enough, I could find a negative in it.

I'm looking at the Suns-Bucks Box Score tonight and I can't figure out how come the Suns only won by 4 (105-101)

Nash 30/11 (12-18 FG)
Amare 23/10 (11-19 FG)
Richardson 23 Pts (9-15 FG)

And Bogut and Jennings were a combined 10-34 Kind of scares me that Milwaukee kept it close despite shooting 38%.

If there are no deals that KP and his staff like, then I don't mind if there is no trade yet.
But I think we do will need a healthy rebounding/defensive center. 4th quarter in the Laker game when we were getting dominated on the boards or LeBron repeatedly getting to the rim without a shotblocker inside really exposed our interior weakness. What would I be willing to give up? Any combination of Outlaw, Blake, and Andre. Two of those players are expiring contracts and the third will expire next year, so for teams looking for cap relief, maybe that package won't be too bad. I don't really want to give up anyone else at this point. We haven't really had a chance to see our team fully healthy and clicking.

Not true. In recent years, people who have been traded include injured players, retired players, assistant coaches, rights to European players who've been injured, etc.

KP said that injured players with Expiring Contracts are the most valuable b/c insurance pays 80% of their paycheck. So not only do you get an EC on your cap hit, you don't fork over the cash for their salary.

Of course injured players can be traded, that wasn't my point. My point was what would these injured players bring back in return that would make us a better team, now or in the future?

HCP... You have ESPN insider. Who are the west contenders by Hollinger? (published 1/12/2010)
