Yeah...so what do you guys think about these systems? Thinking about buying them soon?
 
I want to get a Wii eventually. PS3 will be too expensive I think since I have an xbox 360.
 
I've got a PS3 on pre order. $999.00 (AU) with a free controller and game of my choice.
 
What game are you looking at?
 
Not sure yet, we'll see whats released come February - March, at this stage though, I'm thinking maybe "Just Cause 2", as its meant to be released in the next couple of months.

But im not 100% sure on anything.
 
Umm...are you sure it's not Just Cause you're waiting for...cause that was just released back in September or so. I highly doubt Just Cause 2 would come out that quickly after.

As for me, I'll be getting both, but a Wii first I think. I'm going to try and land a Wii by New Years, that way I can get the new Zelda game, which I've been anxiously waiting a couple years for it now.
 
I am going to the States on the 24th, if I can get a PS3 when I am there I will get one (though I have about a 1% chance I think).

If not I will wait awhile until the price drops down under, I can wait, Metal Gear 4 won't be put for awhile yet and I got plenty of PS2 games to finish.

400,000 units only for North America. I also go on a Buy/Sell forum and the people there have pre-ordered multiple units. All planning to sell them on eBay for $1200+. The XBox 360 was sold online for $1000 or so by scalpers when it was released, and the shortage for PS3s will be even bigger. Good luck getting one.

Wii's also sound like they'll be sold out. Pre-order while you can.

Good luck with that too. Most video game stores around me have 10 or so coming in each and they were all out within a day. Rogers Video (Blockbuster competitor here in Canada) had a pre-order online for both PS3 models and the Wii and pre-orders were all gone within 20 minutes.

Would actually be better to line up outside a Wal-Mart or something and pick it up the day it drops. Kinda late for pre-orders anyways.

I'm not getting one for myself during launch. I just got a PSP so I should be set, and it's too expensive. I'll wait till the 360 has a price-drop then buy it. The PS3 can come later. I was smitten over PS3 myself but it's been underwhelming, and the price is scary.

Yeah I am not holding my breath on getting a PS3. If i do then great, if not I have saved some money.

I heard that eBay will not allow the PS3 to be sold on their site, so I hope your friends enjoy those extra PS3's. I also heard that many pre-orderers will not be getting their PS3.

Even if eBay won't work, there's still plenty other avenues. Craiglist is a big one. Also, we're talking about people on a Buy/Sell forum with 1500 users on at any time that specifically caters to the Toronto region. Think interest will be low?

I just read some where that Just Cause 2 is being released in the near future, when that is I'm not sure, but I heard around the time PS3 is being released here.
 
Doesnt make sense considering the first was just released I don't think they could make a game in 5 months.

It maybe the PS3 version of Just Cause being released.
 
I'm going to wait a year after the PS3 comes out to get it. The price will be around ?120($240ish) cheaper. So that means I won't get it until early 2008.

Won't go down that fast man. The XBox 360 has been out for a year now and won't see its first price drop until next year. At most, it'll be a $100 drop.

In England it does. The original price is about ?400($800ish). So it goes down by the appropriate ratio.
 
I'll be getting my PS3 like 3 weeks after the releasing day. It was very hectic when the 360 came out, I can't imagine what it would be like for the PS3 or the Wii.
 
I played the PS3 today at Target. I wasn't impressed. The graphics looked great, but that's it... is that what they want people to pay $600 for? Might as well get a XBOX360.

I'll gonna get a Wii sooner or later.

you aint gonna get good games this early in its existance.

took x-box 360 a year to get their truly next gen game out.
 
im getting the wii. im 25 and miss all of my old games. the option of having every game I grew up with is too tempting. Plus ther is no was im giving 600 bucks for a ps3 when the ps2 was only 200. Sorry Sony.
 
I'm getting a 360 before I get either system, mainly because I want Gears of War.

The PS2 was $499 when it came out if I don't remember wrong. The prices go down gradually.

Also, Samsung has a Blu-Ray player out now for $900 US. Considering the fact that the PS3 has a Blu-Ray player, $600 is worth it for that alone.

Yeah thats what I was going to say, not only is it better than the XBox 360, but it supports Blu Ray Discs, and it would cost you another $300 - $400 to buy a straight up Blu Ray player. So not only do you get a kick ass console, you get a Blu Ray player built in. XBox 360 only supports DVD.

there already being sold on ebay... (you have to have a picture of your pre order reciet and like 50+ feedback) and there going for 1200-2000

wiis are going for about 600

anyways my cousins are gunna go wait infront of best buy for 2 days to get a ps3, there gunna sell it after so its like they stay out doors for 2 days and get a nice profit on it, one of them got a pre-order on the wii but he only wited like 4 hours to prereserve it while people where there for like a day.


also tickle-me-elmos should be going up soon as well
