The Politics Test(s)

Aren't you going to do them and post your results? I didn't see results for you!

Hmm, I thought I did. I came out at the borderline of Capitalist and Libertarian on the first one and the second one came out about halfway down the positive x axis while being slightly negative on the y-axis. I think my historical comparison was Milton Friedman, which is completely unsurprising.

in general i don't really like these tests. like this question: "Social justice should be the foundation of any economic system." does that refer to an economic system that equalizes wealth or one that equalizes opportunity? because in the first case i would select strongly disagree, but in the second i would likely select strongly agree.

Yeah, I missed it. Not a careful enough check of all the posts. Sorry.

In whichever economic system you think best, is my take. All the questions are looking for your ideals. So, in an ideal economy (whatever that is to you), should social justice be the foundation?

right. but in "scoring" that question, the term social justice is pretty vague and depending on the definition the results are very different. or maybe i'm just thinking about it the wrong way.

Which do you consider social justice, equal wealth or equal opportunity?

Bump.

Given the policies enacted in these first few months of the Obama Administration, I thought this thread was worth bumping. In fact, I'd ask that this thread is stickied. There are new people contributing to this forum so that people who are new to this forum have the opportunity to take these tests and see the results of those of us who have already taken it.

Whoulda thunk I'd be like Jose Zapatero? I barely know who he is...wikipedia time.

Yeah, that's reasonable. Since this forum is so much about politics, it's a bit like the "check-in" thread on the main forum. ;)

who are all of the "famous people" in that graph on OKCupid? especially on the Libertarian side (I'm right on the border of Libertarian and Capitalist)

I'm actually more to the right in this, its insane because I consider myself a left-leaning independent.

Interesting post.

My results surprised me as I thought I was a bit more economically permissive then it is saying. I thought the questions were too related to the environment which is a concern of mine and not enough to other aspects of regulation of business.

My results:

You are a
Social Liberal
(71% permissive)

and an...

Economic Liberal
(31% permissive)

Your political compass

Economic Left/Right: -1.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.00

Just a quick post, but I ran across this and thought it might be of interest to posters here.
