Dammit, you beat me to it.

I'll take a break from movies

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>"If at the end of a war story you feel uplifted, or if you feel that some small bit of rectitude has been salvaged from the larger waste, then you have been made the victim of a very old and terrible lie."</div>

One of my favorites (the source, not quote)

I googled it just for the heck of it. Awesome quote Jigga.

That's Vietnam War-related, but I can't quite place it.

I'm pretty sure the author's last name is an Irish one that starts with O' like O'Connor or O'Sullivan

Alright this has been going on long enough and you people are in the ball park.

The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien. Wonderful book.

Someone can step up and put up a quote.

- One year later, I gave [her] a diamond scrunchie and we were married.

- One year later, I got beat up at a Neil Diamond concert by a guy named Scrunchie!

haha Futurama if my mind serves me right.

Am I right?

Whens that coming back BTW.

No idea when its coming back, but that is from Futurama. The episode where they meet alternate versions of themselves from a different dimension.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Gays don't vomit. They're a very clean people. And they've been that way ever since they came over to this country from France.</div>

I really do appreciate the fact youre sittin here
Your voice sounds so wonderful
But yer face dont look too clear
So bar maid bring a pitcher, another round o brew

I guess that song isn't played at college bars and college parties anymore.

Come on, give me some guesses. You don't need to eat cheeseburgers or drink margaritas to get this one.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (AEM @ Jan 30 2008, 03:42 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Bob Dylan? I've got nothing.</div>

If I give you enough guesses, Come Monday you should be able to get it

Oh, Jimmy Buffett. Strange that I got Come Monday and not Margaritaville...

"It is the case, then, and not the court that gives the jurisdiction."

This one might be a tad tricky, as it looks like something one person said, but was in fact written by another.

Yes it is from the song Why Don't We Get Drunk (and Screw), an absolutely wonderful song to play in college.

I'm past college, but I'll check the song out now.

That sounds like a Chief Justice Marshall quote, but I'm guessing it isn't that easy

Heheheheh, that's who it sounds like, all right. I do so love historical trivia...

Based upon that, I'm guessing it was written by justice that served with him in a court opinion.

You are correct. Ah, but which one? Triple bonus points if you know the case, and quintuple points for knowing why it wasn't Marshall who wrote the decision.

Wow I feel dumb haha. I really could only get like 2 of the quotes in this whole thread.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (AEM @ Jan 31 2008, 11:41 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Is my quote too obscure?</div>

I'm not sure a non-law student could get it if it isn't Marshall. Is it a well known Justice?
