I would guess it’s a protest vote over how much the system favors Memphis vs what they would have faced in playing out the regular season. The Blazers had an easy remaining 16 game schedule while the Grizzlies had a brutal one. This system makes the 8 games pretty much even in strength, gives fewer games to play catch-up, and gives them an advantage in the play-in format with it being double elimination for the 8th seed, but single elimination for the 9th seed. I’m sure that the Blazers wanted a 4 team mini tournament for 8th seed and feel like they have been hosed. As usual.
Agree. This sucks, we went from having one of the easiest remaining schedules to an absolutely difficult schedule, meanwhile, the fucking Grizzlies avoid their most brutal part of their schedule. Fuck Corona and Fuck the NBA

We were 4 losses behind Grizzlies with next game against Grizzlies. If we had lost that, it probably would’ve been it. Under this format, we don’t have to catch Memphis to get in.

We wouldn't have lost that game, and we wouldn't have lost the 2nd game against Memphis. 100% sure

If I was running the NBA I'd consider only allowing players, refs, medical, camera people in Orlando.

Require all coaches/assistants to stay home and do all work via cell phone/video/tablets/etc.

Obviously an older coach could get the virus and have it be life threatening. I agree its not fair to only punish older coaches. But just from a basketball perspective; think if a coach gives the virus to Dame or LeBron or Giannis and it costs that team their season.

The Lakers and Bucks have large leads over #2 seeds. After one or two games will they sit their rotational players the remainder of the 8 game "regular" season? I can't imagine taking the risk of playing them the last week if wins don't matter.

So we basically have to hope that we all of a sudden become the Blazers of last year. At least we’ll be healthy but seems like a tall task. And I can’t fucking wait!!!! I think we can beat the Lakers

Here's an ESPN story on what they look forward to from each team. For Blazers, I would have said; How the return of Nurkic and Collins affects success. But they picked:
Dame time

Looking at the group of potential play-in teams, it's hard to pick a winner. However, it's not hard to pick the player most likely to carry his team through the play-in round. That's Damian Lillard.

When games matter, Lillard becomes one of the scariest players in the league. Just ask the Rockets and the Thunder, who both know all too well just how deep Lillard's range goes. He gives Portland a fighting chance to sneak into the playoffs.

What about the hotel staff and food staff and security? There’s a big circle of people they’ll come in contact with.

I didn't list them but agree they have to be there. They can be physically superated to reduce risk. It won't eliminate that risk.

I am moving in July from an apartment that is about 45 minutes away from Disney WWofS to a place that is only about 30 minutes away. It will be interesting how many players from the 22 different teams that I see out and about in Orlando. Kind of excited. Disappointed that I don't think any fans will get to interact with teams, but I'll let the forum know if I see Dame downtown somewhere with bottle service, drinking like a fish.
