The Road to Impeachment

True. So is a declaration of war. None of which are a particularly great way to begin a diplomatic process. They usually wait for Secretary of State and the President to make a recommendation and and perhaps present a game plan. But then I have never seen a Special Counsel in the process at all. So I suppose we have a new process now. Funny I wonder if anyone knows how it works.

The so called journalists in the media aren't subject to rules, including telling the truth or reporting the news.

Yeah, you have to watch maybe four different ones to get the parameters, then deduce the story. They sure as hell don't.
I can't remember when this all began, it just sort of morphed into place over time. Not really all that long ago, CNN was the place to go get the News, kind of a counter culture to the big three networks. Now, I can't take their shit more than 5, maybe 10 minutes where I become stuffed with mushroom food.

The only redeeming thing about Fox News is you get to see members of the Trump administration speak for themselves instead of a bunch of self admitted haters telling us what those officials said in other words.

Funny thing is you actually do see those members of the Trump admin on a CNN - they show footage of Fox News! And out of context, of course.

If only they weren't so preachy on that channel most of the time.

Fake news!

Very telling that you guys couldn't / can't answer the questions and instead changed the subject to Mueller.

Why won't Trump condemn Russia and take action? Why is he the only one?

And no, 'because he doesn't want to start a nuclear war' doesn't count.

You skipped right over the answer and say it wasn't answered.

That seems to be how the media works these days.

I also mentioned how Trump sent arms to Ukraine, TO FIGHT AGAINST RUSSIA/PUTIN. Just because he doesn't take a specific action YOU prefer, doesn't mean you should make up stuff.

Nobody has made this about Mueller, either. It's more about how deceitful, hateful, and yellow journalism is getting what's due them. The Trump/Russia/Collusion narrative has all but unraveled.

Julie Kelly calls it the Media's Walk of Shame.

https://amgreatness.com/2018/02/18/medias-walk-shame-wont-end/

The media have been on a walk-of-shame bender since 2016. They were whored out by Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, swallowed the Christopher Steele dossier, and still get drunk-dialed by the Left. The cheap-date journos show up every time.

Each morning, the media floozies trudge through the quad wearing their “I’m With Her” t-shirts from the night before while they come up with a new cover story for their bad behavior. They lie, distort what actually happened, change the subject, and make excuses for why they got in bed with an ungrateful lover. “Hey, it’s better than sleeping with thatotherguy!” They insist they’re not being used, but everyone who sees them meander back to the dorm knows they are.

Last week was perhaps one of the tawdriest of the walks of shame taken by the flat-on-its-back, call-me-later commentariat. Still desperate to prove their Hillary hook-up was worth it, the media had several flings over the past several days: North Korea, FBI Director Christopher Wray (again), a white supremacist group, and Russian social-media bots all got bedded. Like the easy girl who never learns her lesson, journalists and opinion-writers keep ruining their reputations in the futile hope of getting some love from their greedy suitors in the #Resistance, then they traipse their escapades through news websites and social media to justify their deed.

Whew! That was some good stuff!

Hmm, maybe I missed it. We know this past weekend he criticized Obama, the FBI, his own intelligence (ha!), but not Putin or Russia.

Why is that again?

Yes, apparently you missed it.

His surrogates blast Russia all the time. He's put no muzzle on anyone. It's also fine for surrogates to be the bad guys.

When the rubber meets the road, Trump has done things against Russian or Putin's interests. I'd say he did work with Russia to end ISIS, but I fail to see how that's a bad thing.

Like I said, who cares what YOU think of his foreign policy? He's the president, he can run it how he wants.

As long as he moves us away from the ledge people who think like you seem to be pushing us toward, it's a GOOD THING.

Obviously politicians aren’t subject to rules, including telling the truth or reporting the news either......and yes, it isn’t their job to “report” the news, but Trump certainly makes a regular effort to either report it....or distort it......

Also, it's a GREAT thing to bash the FBI and other intelligence agencies. On one hand, they do "protect" us, but on the other, they lie and commit egregious offenses to humanity (Americans among those!), and have committed some of the ugliest things this nation has ever done.

50+ executions of (or attempts against) foreign leaders since 1949.

I'd be really careful who you side with. Be intellectually honest, at least.

The presidents have all spun things to suit their agendas.

We all know Trump has a big ego and exaggerates things to bolster that. Until he does something that's an abuse of office, we have to live with it. It is what it is. No different than Obama telling everyone, "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance."

The media isn't setting the facts straight, which is a dereliction of their duty as "4th estate." They're nothing more than tabloids anymore.

Here’s another take. Gotta be at least as valid as your propaganda......

Consider the likelihood Trump actually has nothing to hide. It's looking that way more and more.

Yeah, he certainly acts like a man with nothing to hide, all right.

He sure does.

He keeps telling the guys investigating him to tell the public what they tell him. That he's not under investigation and there's not a whiff of evidence of collusion.

He wants to govern and all this nonsense is a distraction.

Hah. I doubt Mueller has ever told him he's not under investigation.

If he wants to govern so much why does he spend so much time tweeting and golfing?

You know, when "Men in Black" came out, there was a scene where K tells Will that "They have to pick up the hot sheets" and proceeds to grab a hand full of gossip mags.

At the time I found that funny.

At this point, I find the "reporting" in the rags and far more credible than the "Opinion" piece that you have presented, as well as most of the left leaning "reporting"

Odds are that if I wanted to believe a rag, or the so called "credible" sources, I choose the rags.

Figures you would think the guy could do only one thing at a time.

I would expect you would prefer he played golf 365 days a year. I know I would. He can take congress with him, too.

More Putin puppetry.

http://thehill.com/opinion/internat...s-presidency-has-not-lived-up-to-expectations

For Putin, Trump’s presidency has not lived up to expectations

For both Russia and the U.S. 2017 was year of mutual frustration in their relations. Vladimir Putin clearly anticipated, as did the Russian elite, that President Trump would make good on his frequent assertions that he would repair relations with Moscow. Yet by year’s end both Trump’s rhetoric and Putin’s hopes were dashed.

Indeed, in December 2017 the U.S. imposed new sanctions on Russia and selected individual Russian elites for violating the INF treaty and under the terms of the newly enacted “Global Magnitsky Law.”

The administration also published a new National Security Strategy forthrightly accusing Russia of intervening in the U.S. elections and portraying as an aggressor and threat to European if not global security, announced the first steps in providing Ukraine with weapons to defend against Russian aggression, and forcefully intensified the reinforcement of NATO forces in Europe and overall ties with European allies.

Needless to say, all of these moves aroused enormous anger and frustration in Moscow even though Putin formally claims that Russia still seeks partnership with the U.S. or at least cooperation on issues of mutual concern and interest.

...

In addition, Trump’s own predilections and that of his national security team, the majority of whom completely accepted the idea of a Russian challenge to bedrock U.S. interests and values, cut against Russian interests. The maximum pressure policy on North Korea struck at Russian interests there and Russia’s foot-dragging on clamping down on the DPRK undermined any hope of cooperation with Moscow on Korea or Asia more generally.

In Europe Moscow’s refusal to make any concessions on Ukraine or in the Middle East foreclosed any hope of cooperation on those issues of regional significance. Indeed, Russia has now demanded that the U.S. forces quit Syria after having defeated ISIS there. This will not happen since Syria and Iraq are hardly stable and Washington now harbors deep suspicions concerning Russia’s larger ambitions in the Middle East and its cooperation with Iran since Iran is clearly another target of administration pressure.

In Ukraine Moscow still denies that its troops invaded or have long since integrated these “separatists” into forces under its command and wages multi-domain war against Kyiv while threatening all of Europe with unrelenting information war and the threat of conventional or nuclear missile strikes.

Meanwhile, Russia continues its massive military buildup. Indeed, the German magazine Bild just argued that the West in2017 actually represented a simulation of an invasion of Europe. Such tactics will hardly foster a détente let alone partnership with Washington.

But apart from Washington’s reaction to Russian depredations and Trump’s own often-bizarre presidency, Putin has nobody to blame but himself. His war against the U.S. expressed in the multiple interventions to terminate sanctions and the Magnitsky laws and force acceptance of Crimea as part of Russia. This also included abridging Ukraine’s sovereignty and integrity and forcing global acceptance of Russia as a U.S. equal that can veto U.S. actions abroad overreached and triggered a continuing anti-Russian backlash.

Fact checking the media is so trivial. They must take the people for fools.

Trump is a liar. With his allies in the media reporting how great his foreign policy is, he came out and lied about, and told his underlings to lie about, Benghazi. It was all about a YouTube video! Telling the truth would have hurt is chances to win reelection.
