I wanted to add a quick (turns out to not be so quick, sorry) story about Shaedon.
Last night, a couple hours after the final games, me and my family went to Olive Garden for dinner. As we were ordering my wife nudged me and motioned toward a family walking in...the Sharpe's. I made her promise to leave them alone but she snuck in a selfie where she accidentally got Shaedon in the background. After dinner, on our way out, I made eye contact with his dad and gave him a quick nod and smile. He reciprocated.
As we were pulling out of the parking lot, his dad came around a corner in front of me. I stopped, rolled down my window and asked "are you Dad"? He smiled and said yes. I told him they've done a great job raising their kids and we hope he's around for a long time. By this time the rest of the family was standing outside my window talking with us. I told them we didn't want to interrupt Easter dinner but I had to say something. We ended up talking for a minute or two. Every member of the family stood there smiling and exchanging comments. [ … ] The last thing I said was directed at Shaedon while pulling away was that a lot of people hope he likes Oregon and stays here a long time. His Dad leaned over in front of him and said "we do, too." We all laughed and went our ways.
