Brown, George, Kawhi, Lavine all became full time starters in year 2.

Kobe took until year 3. TMac til yr 3/4

If Ant is still here, the only avenue for Shaedon to start here next year is if he slides to SF. I'm really looking forward to seeing how he does now with Ant out. Chauncey needs to not be dumb and start Cam or Nas and just get on with starting Shaedon now. Would help us make decisions on whether to move on from Ant this summer.

assuming Grant is back...and assuming everybody has seen enough of Little to conclude he shouldn't be a starter....then the options seem to be Thybulle at SF and Sharpe at SG; or Reddish at SF and either Thybulle or Sharpe at SG (and yeah, the distinction between SG and SF is probably irrelevant)

I'd prefer Sharpe/Thybulle, but I would not be surprised at all if it was Thybulle/Reddish.

Starting Cam over Shaedon now would be a continued trend of clulessness from this franchise's leadership and indicative once again of the lack of direction. Cam is a restricted FA in 3 months and has no future with this team. What is to be gained by letting him start over a guy we invested the highest lottery pick since Dame on?

I bet we re-sign him. He'll be cheap and there's nothing wrong with having useful, long, wing players.

That would not be bad but I would be ok bringing Thybulle off the bench to shut down whatever player is hot. I would be intrigued at starting Dame, Sharpe, Winslow, Grant, and Nurk. Winslow gives us more size at SF along with his ball handling, passing, and defense. I just don't trust Sharpes play making ability for others at this point.

Maybe it’s bias, but Sharpe looks way better than Lavine or Brown did as a rookie.

Lavine was simply a play finisher and Brown was a hustle guy more than anything. I was baffled when Brown went #3 and I was a Brown fan. Seeing how much better both those guys got is only getting me more excited about Sharpe. What separates Sharpe and Lavine/Brown is that Sharpe is flashing major shot creation ability already.

sharpes 3pt shooting is most impressive thing for me. So many young guys come in and rush their shots. Sharpe is so incredibly smooth. Over last 4-5 games he just seems to have taken it to the next level and looks so confident. Wondering if not making young stars team is motivating him.

That is probably a part of it. But I think a bigger part is that his finger is finally healed up

Assuming we want to keep our first round draft pick, the arguments against starting Sharpe are some of the reasons why we should start Sharpe.

I don’t think adding Sharpe to the starting lineup changes anything on our record. With Sharpe starting, the bench is going to look dismal.

Sharpe starting at the 2 (or even not) should get the minutes needed to accelerate his rookie evaluation. Ant’s absence, GP gone, Hart gone … it’s open.
This is a good thing.
This summer’s go-for-it-move needs that data on how good, how fast he’ll be … especially if Ant is in the trade.

Sharpe isn't a SF, he's a 2. SFs have to body up against the big boys. I am completely against the idea that Portland's best starting lineup includes Dame, Ant & SS as its too small.

If/when Shaedon proves ready for a starting role and those sorts of minutes, move Ant to the bench and make him the leader of the 2nd wave.

I would be thrilled to finish out the season with

Lillard, Sharpe, Thybulle, Grant, Nurk

Wavers?, Little, Reddish, Winslow/Watford, Eubanks

That backup PG is going to be a tough one until Simons returns.

Justise can backup PG

I thought we were talking about this season right now while Ant is out. My b.

With everyone (except Simons) healthy, that is exactly what I want to see as well. Dame/Shae/MT/Grant/Nurk backed by Justise/Nas/Cam/TW/Drew.

too bad Walker can't shoot the three-ball well because other than that he's been better than Little. He probably can't play SF either...?

does anyone else hear Lamar trying to say something, but it just comes out as noises because it's so crazy?

Also, does anyone else hear @Travis Demers call and instantly think of Cartman saying "you will respect my authoritah"? (not meant as a diss to Travis, just my juvenile sense of humor whenever I hear someone yell "authority").

as a Jew I usually get Kyle. First time anyone has compared me to Cartman

He probably will but there are other players who have shot well in college and it didn't translate to the pros.
No argument there, but knowing his work ethic and that he will eventually get more minutes I think he will improve. There have been players that have come into the league that have improved with the three also. Little is one.

to be fair, Walker has only shot 23 three's. That's way too small a sample size to reach any conclusions. He's shooting .217. Gary Trent jr. shot .238 as a rookie on 21 attempts and he ended up a good shooter from deep

Man if that kid can shoot 40% from three he's gonna be an absolute steal.
