Assuming we accept the premise that Aminu was brought in to play the 3, we presently have 5 big men on the roster: Vonleh, Leonard, Plumlee, Davis, and Kaman. If you accept the premise that a balanced 15-man roster should have 3 at each position, that leaves an opening for one more 4/5. But, there are different schools of thought as to how to fill that spot.
- Do we go for someone like Kanter--someone who is ready to be a number 2 option right now?
- Would we be better with someone like Kevin Seraphin--young and NBA caliber, but clearly a career backup?
- Perhaps someone like Arnett Moultrie, a virtual unknown who is nothing but untapped potential?
- Or maybe someone like Boozer, an aging vet on the downside of his career who can help support and develop our young guys (a la Kaman)?
- Something else entirely that didn't occur to me?
- Or in lieu of any of these options, would we be better off just leaving the spot open?
