They've had a ton of injuries and have rested main guys multiple games all season long and yet they're four wins ahead of 2nd place OKC for the best record in the league. They're on a mission after almost winning the title last year. It looks like they are heavy favorites this time around. What do you guys think? They're probably gonna win, right?

No, I think age will be there achilles heal again. Miami will be there at the end.

AGAIN? They lost last year because of age?? They lost because an old guy named Ray Allen hit a three. If they foul Bosh after he gets the rebound, Allen doesn't get to shoot that three and the Spurs are defending champions. It wasn't age. It was a single mental lapse. Bad coaching for one possession.

And it's "their" and "heel."

I do not think Miami will be there at the end. They have too many injury issues. Wade does play well (very well) when he plays but he can't stay on the court enough for it to pay dividends. They've been a mediocre team since the All Star break. They are a team that has been to three straight finals and is finally breaking down. They are not some team that is gearing up for a title run. They will struggle in round 1 and likely go out in round 2 or 3. If I was a betting man, I would bet on it. I wouldn't be surprised to see Chicago or Brooklyn in the NBA Finals. They'd get beat but they could get there.

Nope. After we beat Houston in the first round, and Memphis beats up on SA, we will do the Thunder a favor and take the Spurs out in the 2nd round, clearing the path for the OKC-Miami finals that Silver wants.

It is destined.

No, I don't think so. OKC will knock them out.

I think the Spurs will, and even if they don't, it's highly likely the west representative does.

I hope so. There's no chance in hell that the Blazers will, but the Spurs are the most likeable team in the league by a mile (unless maybe you're Brent Barry) plus they have Patty and Jeff Ex-Pendergraph representing the Blazers. Plus if they win, Duncan will have as many rings as Kobe, which would be pretty sweet.

I hope so. I think it'll be them or MIA. Probably MIA if they're healthy. Would love to see the Spurs win it though.

Ime Udoka is on their coaching staff, too.

Yeah, looks like their 1st round opponent could be their toughest until they get to the Finals. MEM is not your typical 8 seed.

Memphis isn't the 8 seed yet. And the Spurs swept the Grizzlies last year. Why would the SPurs be concerned?

Good points. Miami & Indy limping into the playoffs making the East NOT look like the foregone conclusion we all assumed (Miami vs Indy in Conf Finals). It doesn't matter though. The West is just going to totally outclass the East this year. I think it's OKC. They are 3-0 vs the Spurs this year, & beat them handily each time (2 @ SA). Durrant is just a beast right now, & that will be the difference. OKC has lapses, SA almost never does. But OKC has a gear they can go to that nobody else does. I think it's their year.

As long as the Thunder or Warriors don't win it, I'm all good.

What do you think the outcome might have been if Timmy D and Manu were each five years younger? Do you think the twof them might have had enough youthful energy to close them out?

So kingspeed is 'that guy' who corrects simple, often accidental grammatical errors?

Seriously though, when I saw this post among your others last night I was like "damn I haven't seen this many threads since Betsy Ross sewed the american flag".

the spurs don't have that guy named kevin durant on their team so no, they aren't going to win the championship.

That makes you the world's oldest Blazer fan

How do you know that?

Oh, for fuck sake. Really? Is that the new standard? Gotcha.

To answer your fucking stupid question, because there have been multiple interviews with multiple former and current Spurs who have detailed this obsessive trait within Popovich and how he coaches the team.

If everything goes right for the Spurs I can see them winning, although I am really scared with Miami now that they have Greg Oden.
