Its not the money. Its the principle to allow bad companies to continue to survive. Reward them and have them "carry on"

TARP is still a net loss, anyhow.

Although I approve of it much more than I approved of the Stimulus Slush Fund. That was $1 trillion pissed away to unions and who knows where else.

you do realize that we're no where near Greece or Italy, right?

And you do realize how rich it is (no pun intended) for you to say it's not about XYZ, when you're then in the same sentence saying similarly outlandish things about Obamas presidency, right?

As for the Bush tax cuts, they need to expire. They were not a good idea, especially since they were supposed to be a short term deal AND it could've helped pay for the wars.

but whatever. Blazer game is on and I'm hoping we kick the fuck out the Clippers

Financially, we're worse than Greece. We have the illusion we're okay because people still buy our debt.

TARP wasn't a $245 billion bill.

Where is the other $600 billion?

$245B is what actually was used to bail out banks (sum paid to the banks).

And the amount of TARP actually spent was under $600B, not the $845B you suggest.

good for the goose, good for the gander.

It's a tough pill for you to swallow that you were in the minority of Americans. History and society is passing you buy.

That's exactly right. We now live in a different America. We're now a socialist nation where the majority believes they deserve cradle to grave security. The problem right now is that same majority somehow thinks money is created out of thin air and all this stuff is "free". It's not.

I did find this really good graphic, as well.

We don't have the eurozone to bail us out. But we're great importers and consumers so china doesn't want to quite call us out yet.

The minority has grown since 2008. Obama had millions of votes less in 2012 than he had in 2008.

PG, it doesn't matter. In 2008, people were fooled by his message. This time, he ran on his record and even with all the crap economic results the majority said "we want four more like the last four". We've reached the tipping point and we're not coming back. Accept it and make the best of it.

I am. I'm accepting the reality. We're in for a rough ride. The handouts, printing of money, and inflated wages for unions and bloated government will meet a crisis point for our country. At that point, as the world's top capitalistic society, the globalists like Obama will have won, and we'll falter because the moronic socialists here believe that other socialistic/communistic nations like China will be willing to "merge" with us. Won't happen.

Thank you for confirming my point. (I'm not trying to be snarky, but informative: It's "dire")

I didn't think my spelling looked right, but I was too busy learning Chinese to spell it correctly.

I welcome our new Chinese overlords!

We stood a chance at turning them into the new Japan. Now what you say jokingly may well turn out to be true.

I love when those with a degrees think they're entitled to make more money and hate Unions in spite of it.

I don't even need to read his posts to know how stupid they are.

Orca was a giant new software system to tell volunteers on election day which Republicans hadn't yet voted, so they could knock on their doors and offer them a drive.

There's no way to know if Romney could have made up the margins in Ohio if Orca had worked. But the catastrophic failure of the system, purchased at large expense, squandered the campaign's most valuable resource—people—and was symptomatic of a much bigger leadership problem.

"The end result," Ekdahl wrote, "was that 30,000+ of the most active and fired-up volunteers were wandering around confused and frustrated when they could have been doing anything else to help. The bitter irony of this entire endeavor was that a supposedly small government candidate gutted the local structure of [get out the vote] efforts in favor of a centralized, faceless organization in a far off place (in this case, their Boston headquarters). Wrap your head around that."

If you're too god damned stupid to know what day (or days) you're supposed to vote, I propose you shouldn't be voting

That's not what ORCA was about for election day, but whatever.

I've worked harder than you and developed a rarer skill. Of course I deserve to make more money.

I have no problem with private unions. I have a problem with public ones. Try to keep up, Zags.

Nobody is "entitled" to anything other than their basic human rights. You chose to not pursue a degree and carry boxes around, which is easily replaceable. Those that earned a degree and found a career where they aren't easily replaced should probably make more money than you. If they don't, that's on them for making bad decisions. Union members are the epitome of feeling entitled.

"A degrees".

Zags is so hardcore he wears brown nutter shorts in the middle of winter, though.

Those damn box carriers I tell ya. Beating the system. Shame on them for busting their tail and making good money.

People with degrees are easily replaceable too. In fact, too many people have a false sense of security in it....yeah, the UE rate is significantly lower, but pretty soon white collar jobs will be obsolete. These jobs are prime for outsourcing and cost reduction, you'll still need people to "lift boxes".

Zags put in his work, ain't no shame in that. I dont get why yall bang on his job.... its not like he is collecting welfare handouts or staying home leeching off people.
