So short sided...

This isn't checkers. Neil is a chess master, thinking several moved ahead. His plan is a 1.5 season rental of Carmelo Anthony, who he will then trade for a future first round draft pick that will end up being a top 6 pick, win ROY and become the future face of the franchise.

I concur. Also, I don't have any problem with Carmelo being a full on shoot first player. I think it's a big problem that when Dame and CJ are out there they look around and they don't believe in anyone else's ability to score so they try to do it all themselves. I'd SOOO much rather they had Carmelo out there jacking up shots like crazy and being a black hole rather than passing to the likes of Aminu, Leonard, Turner, Vonleh, etc.
 
So is Melo gonna give his big announcement smack dab in the middle of the eclipse tomorrow?
Thinking about it, The world should be pretty needle dropping silent for his voice to carry further than any voice has before... supermelo voice.

Depends on the play of the game, but I would leave Vonleh and situationally I would leave Turner off that list of don't pass too's.
Aminu should only be a swing man at this point and use ALL his energy to become defensive player of the year.
Leonard will get minutes. He is coming off of an injury riddled season and the Blazers have too much invested to not give him another opportunity while the rookies learn the ropes. BUT if he doesn't perform quick he will be at the end of the bench, no doubt about it.
Turner is more vital than many think. He is another solid ball handler that we will need. His key is decision making. He can post guys up, he can hit that short jump offbalnce jump shot. He is looking to improve his three, but most importantly he can also break players down when Dame and CJ get trapped. Pass to him and odds are he is open to start driving to the hole. He is open because his man was helping the trap. But now who is sliding over to pick him up? Vonleh or Nurks guy, either of which cna take it for a drop off smash dunk in thier face.
But Vonleh... Vonleh can hit the outside shot. He can put it on the floor from 15 ft out and drive to the hole. He can post up. He can hit the three. He is going to be a force this year. With that said, Id still take Melo If it didnt mean giving up Dame/CJ/Vonleh/Nurk/Turner

If this team plays like a team and plays to its strengths and minimizes/masks its weaknesses and stays healthy, I really believe we can get to the WFC.
