If you have a better plan to add an all-star let me know.
Trade Damian or CJ for a guy who is more complimentary (sort of like Golden State did with Curry and Ellis), throw in some of the bloated salaries (if possible) to get your cap in order and start thinking about loading up on assets in a post 2020 league, where the Warriors aren't the colossus astride the world. Of course by then you'll have other colossi to contend with like Milwaukee, the 76ers, Boston, Lakers, and whomever the hell else, but at least you won't be throwing good money after bad in a futile attempt to play catch-up with the Warriors.

That's like saying, "If you have a better way to make a billion dollars than my pyramid scheme, let me know." I don't (nor do I think Portland is going to get another with this core--the hope is that Nurkic is a third star) but that doesn't automatically make your plan a good one. Portland's best chance at another star probably lies in the Draymond Green route--pick a late-first round or second-round player who wildly outpaces expectations.

Or hope on Collins. He would only need to somewhat beat expectations to become a star.

We could just sit Lillard and CJ all year!! Another year of experience for all other "young" players and we earn a very low numbered draft selection.

Looks like Boston is trading Bradley to Detroit for Morris

Would y'all do Harkless, Meyers, Davis, and Aminu for Anderson, J.Noah, and the right to swap 1sts with NYK?

That pick could be top 5. I'd do it.

Best part about this is 3 posts above is him saying, 'and people give me shit about my trade ideas.'

That's because you have some fascination with blowing up the team to make us awful and we get trade banged MASSIVELY most of the time.

In this case, we take on MASSIVE contracts that hinder our flexibility because we lose assets and retaining money, and in the off chance that we get the #1 pick from the NYK and that player turns out to be as good as LeBron James, we have little room to improve because we dissected the team of players and assets so we have no way of putting players around them. Then you'll complain why we don't have flexibility. This also assumes said player turns into Lebron James from day 1.

So essentially we blow up the team for a 5% chance at getting a franchise changing player that can contribute at a championship caliber immediately to match with CJ and Dame...

Or do you wanna trade them too and play around nurk and our #1 pick since they are younger and closer in age with Collins and Swanigan as well?

Knicks need to dump Carmelo and his huge contract.

Rockets need to dump Anderson and his worse than Allen Crabbe's contract.

Blazers...not a dumping ground.

Pass.

(P.S. Fuck Trevor Ariza)
Becasue we have Mild LeoTARD, the league thinks we enjoy steamy piles of poo heaped upon our chests...

Only way you take on Anderson is we can dump AC and Turner in the same deal.

It's kinda odd though. In that similar role, i like Anderson better than Melo
I like Raymond Felton better than Carmelo Anthony, lol

Losing Harkless to get rid of Meyers is sadly where the roster is at after last summer. Harkless and Vonleh have as much potential to get better as anyone on the roster IMO.
And neither of them are "problem contracts". Trading them FOR a problem contract is FUCKING STUPID. Especially when one of them is better than the player you'd be receiving.

I swear Neil... If you trade Harkless and Bring back fucking Ryan Anderson I'm gonna be pissed.
agreed. Although I suspect that it's more likely Aminu who gets traded, since his contract is shorter, smaller and the Knicks probably would benefit from having an ending contract.

Ed and Aminu fit the bill.

If they take back Turner, while not including Hark, sign me up for RyanA (I think they sign hardaway, so they wouldnt want crabbe.

We should keep Harkless. He's getting better and better and is the best SF to play with Nurk.
Mo is the only guy who's said to have grumbled about coming off the bench which is where I think he belongs with Chief...this may be why they consider moving him...we could stand pat and keep everybody we have and I think we'd be competitive and fun to watch.

Yeah I don't see how the Knicks in tear-down mode start adding bloated contracts for underwhelming talent (MyLe, Turner, Crabbe, et al.). Isaiah Thomas is long gone.
